Associate Director, Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine (Cytology, IHC, & Histology)
Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are hiring an Associate Director to join our leadership team in the Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine (DPLM) with a focus on Cytology, IHC, & Histology.
Role Overview:
- The Associate Director directs the operational, fiscal, human, and information resource functions within a portfolio of Cytology, IHC, & Histology labs.
- Collaborates with Chairman, Division Head, Service Chief and Senior Director in the design, coordination and implementation of all administrative aspects of the multiple labs’ clinical, research and teaching/educational activities in alignment with those of the department.
- Manages portfolio of labs and functional areas through direct management of Lab Managers.
- The Associate Director is the administrative, thought and business partner to the Division Head/Service Chief, developing plans and goals; and leads and supports the execution of these plans.
- Pivotal responsibility for overseeing lab operations, ensuring the highest quality of patient-centric care.
- Provides leadership and direction to a team of lab managers, cultivating and fostering an empowered and engaged workforce.
- Maintains cost effectiveness through strategic resource allocation and ensuring efficient and responsive flow of samples, and information management.
- Ensures collaboration across departments and with Institutional leadership to influence and execute strategic direction and financial planning based on analysis of current operations, anticipated needs, and supports innovative approaches to the delivery of care and the conduct of research, as well as education and training programs and initiatives.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree clinical laboratory sciences required
- 7+ years of proven management experience required
- NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or Histology Technician or Histology Technologist or Cytotechnologist
- ASCP preferred

Additional Information:
- Location: 1275 York Ave New York, NY
- Schedule: Flexibility to work on-site in Manhattan as needed (hybrid schedule)
- Reporting to the Senior Director, Hospital Administration (DPLM)
Pay Range: $160,700 - $265,200.00/annually
