Responsibilities:
The Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for leading and executing the human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. This role covers all aspects of human resources, including employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, learning & development, talent acquisition, HRIS and compliance. Additionally, the VP of HR will drive strategic initiatives aimed at positioning the company as a "Best Place to Work," fostering an environment of employee engagement and organizational excellence.
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute HR strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
- Drive initiatives focused on building a culture that supports being recognized as a "Best Place to Work."
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership on organizational and talent matters.
- Compensation & Benefits:
- Design and manage competitive compensation structures that attract and retain top talent while aligning with the company’s financial goals.
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, LTD & STD plans, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, PTO, holidays, and other employee perks.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding compensation and benefits.
- Employee Relations:
- Act as a mediator in employee relations matters, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop policies and practices that promote strong communication and a culture of accountability and engagement.
- Oversee workplace investigations, complaints, and disciplinary actions, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all labor laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, ADA, FMLA, etc.).
- Oversee employee safety, health, and wellness programs to create a healthy work environment.
- Lead initiatives for mitigating HR-related risk, including managing employment practices liability.
- Performance Management & Development:
- Lead the administration of the performance appraisal system.
- Design and execute training and development programs to enhance employee skills and leadership competencies.
- Foster a continuous feedback culture that promotes professional growth and organizational improvement.
- Strategic Initiatives for Employee Experience:
- Design and lead company-wide programs aimed at improving employee engagement and workplace satisfaction.
- Measure and monitor employee satisfaction and implement improvements to ensure a thriving workplace.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience.
- Talent Acquisition & Management:
- Oversee the full cycle of recruiting to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
- Implement effective onboarding programs to ensure new hires' success and assimilation into the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing HR functions, including compensation, benefits, HRIS, talent acquisition and employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and compliance requirements including the Service Contract Act (SCA) regulations.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Experience in implementing workplace initiatives to achieve “Best Place to Work” recognition or similar programs is a plus.
- Certification such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or GPHR is preferred.
