A rare opportunity awaits for a motivated and hard-working interventional cardiologist and electrophysiologist to enjoy the rewards of a private cardiology practice in Central California.
A single specialty cardiology group that has been in existence for 45 years is seeking an interventional cardiologist and an electrophysiologist to join our practice to replace two recently retired interventional cardiologists and one exceptionally busy expert electrophysiologist. The practice is productivity-based. The starting salary is competitive and the ultimate salary is limited only by one’s capacity and desire to work.
The practice is located in Central California in a medium sized city with a population in excess of 600,000 and a catchment area of 1.5 million. This city offers a plethora of educational, artistic, and recreational opportunities with many attractions of big city life such as fine restaurants, top-end artistic performances, and best-in-the-world recreational opportunities while affording the safety and comfort not currently available in many large cities. Every weekend can be filled with adventures as San Francisco and Los Angeles are a 3-hour commute, the Sierra Nevada mountain range and Yosemite are an hour away, and the Central California coast is 2.5 hours away. Fresno, California offers affordable housing, a family-oriented environment for raising children, and a small-town attitude where friends are easy to make and keep.
Our practice has been in existence for over 45 years. A recent review indicates that there are over 100,000 active patients, and we currently offer a state-of-the-art outpatient facility for providing top-level care.
The group currently practices in both major hospital systems in the city, which offer newly installed cath labs with ample technology for interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and structural heart disease endeavors.
The practice has over 30,000 square feet of office space on two separate campuses offering all noninvasive cardiology modalities including echo, SPECT nuclear imaging, PET/CT, and an onsite pacemaker clinic. Additionally, the main facility offers an office-based peripheral vascular laboratory active for the last decade, where the full gamut of peripheral vascular procedures can be performed.
Due to the recent retirement of two partners practicing comprehensive interventional cardiology, there is an immediate need for an interventional cardiologist. Skills and interest in structural heart disease are advantageous but not necessary, with mentorship opportunities available. Experience in peripheral vascular intervention is a plus, with opportunities to develop a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic peripheral vascular disease practice.
Two types of opportunities exist in electrophysiology depending on the applicant's preference. Ideally, an electrophysiologist joining the practice would also have an interest in general cardiology. Our current electrophysiologist has chosen this path, providing excellent diversification and comprehensive cardiovascular care. Alternatively, an applicant interested in an electrophysiology-only practice can be accommodated with a different compensation arrangement.
A core tenet of the practice is a productivity-based model in which a physician’s hard work is proportionately rewarded. Both recent graduates and experienced physicians are invited to apply.
