Position Description
The Activity Director will plan, organize, develop & direct the operation of the activity department designed to meet the interests and physical, mental & psychosocial well-being of each resident. Cadia is dedicated to providing the best care possible and that’s where you come in!
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate & direct the activity programs of the facility. Assist in development, administration, and coordination of department policies & procedures.
- Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of resident assessments.
- Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc. and submitting such to the administrator as required.
- Direct, manage and supervise Activity Aides and/or other department personnel. Delegate authority, responsibility, and accountability to other responsible department personnel.
- Develop a written plan of care (preliminary & comprehensive) for each resident that identifies the problems/needs of the resident and the goals to be accomplished.
- Prepare a monthly calendar of activities written in large print & posted prominently for visitors & in resident rooms.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of college preferred.
- Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional licensed by the state & eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or an activity professional; art, music or dance therapist.
