Director, Software Lead - Enterprise Services Risk Office

We are hiring! The Enterprise Services Business Risk Office provides risk management support to several lines of business including: Brand, Enterprise Supplier Management, Enterprise Products & Experience (EPX), Software, External Affairs, eData, Global Workplace Solutions, Emerging Payments, Ventures, and Tech. As the risk team for Software, we are on the cutting edge of risk management and provide support for new and emerging technologies as well as critical business strategies.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of process management strategies, risk methodologies and ability to build relationships with business and risk partners.
Our team is passionate about proactively identifying current and emerging risks by utilizing technology to gather insights, analyzing datasets, and synthesizing the evolving risk landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Capital One Software and leverage a trusted advisor model to support business initiatives, issue management, process improvement, control testing and related risk assessment activities.
- Develop a deep understanding of business strategies, products, services, and risk profile.
- Ensure independent escalation of risk management gaps, issues, and concerns, including emerging risks and regulatory focus areas.
- Consult on Risks across the first line of defense business partners providing advice and guidance as needed.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.
- Implement process improvements: process certification framework, process hierarchy change management, change control, and risk reporting.
- Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts.
- Communicate complex ideas concisely and convincingly, adjust communication to the audience and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership.
- Leverage problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent.
- Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery.
- Collaborative, values diverse perspectives and seeks insights from others. Brings energy to the group and rallies them around a common goal.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in Risk Management.
- At least 8 years of People Management experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in project management, risk program management, Cloud risk management or process management.
- At least 8 years of experience supporting or partnering with internal clients, external clients, or a combination of the two.
- At least 8 years of experience consulting with senior executives.
- At least 4 years of experience working in cross functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in project management, process management, or agile delivery.
- At least 10 years of experience managing senior stakeholders across different business functions.
- At least 10 years of experience writing communications and presentations for leadership audience.
- At least 10 years of experience in strategy development in financial or technology services.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $233,100 - $266,000 for Director, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Illinois (Hybrid On-Site): $217,300 - $248,000 for Director, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
