Chief Marketing Officer

Reporting to the Chief Communications & Strategy Officer, the Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for leading innovative brand strategies designed to make Operation HOPE a household name. The CMO is a strategic thinker, highly experienced in implementing marketing, brand and digital strategies. The CMO is a data-driven leader who has built and managed high-performing teams in fast-paced organizations.
Responsibilities:
Brand Management
- Work collaboratively to develop a strategy that grows the brand identity of Operation HOPE to expand the organization’s visibility and solidifies our brand's presence and recognition.
- Forge additional strategic alliances within the nonprofit and financial services industry to expand our reach and referral networks.
- Oversee creative design and placement for the HOPE brands to ensure all functions are aligned and positively reflect our mission, values, historical impact and strategy.
- Monitor and evaluate brand performance metrics, analyzing data to inform strategic decisions and optimize brand initiatives.
- Stay abreast of nonprofit and financial services trends to inform brand strategy and seek innovative ways of storytelling Operation HOPE’s mission.
- Help to articulate the distinctive value of Operation HOPE’s solutions and services, differentiating them from other agencies and ensuring they align with our overall mission.
Growth Driver
- Develop and execute performance marketing strategies to drive traffic, new partner and donor acquisition, as well as other philanthropic support for the organization.
- Harness the power of digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, social media, and online presence to captivate the target demographic effectively and boost engagement.
- Nurture the appropriate levels of partner and top donor relationships to support our marketing initiatives mission to include the creation of client and community success narratives.
- Significant participation in short and long-range marketing objectives to grow the Operation HOPE brand and plan strategies to attain those objectives.
Leadership
- Oversee a marketing function that supports the organization’s high-performance, high-creativity, and fast-paced environment.
- Set clear, achievable team goals, KPI’s and other metrics and ensure staff has resources, access, and professional development opportunities to perform at high levels.
- Mentor a marketing team into one that is rich in talent and drive, instilling a spirit of cooperation, ingenuity, and ongoing enhancement.
- Effectively coach staff to meet personal, departmental, and organizational goals, including documenting progress and results.
- Cultivate relationships with Executive Leadership to align marketing strategies with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support community outreach initiatives, sponsorships, and events to strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on marketing performance and initiatives.
Experience and Other Requirements:
- 10-12 years of similar or related experience in marketing, preferably for a nonprofit, financial institution, or similar industry.
- Knowledge of cause marketing concepts, including planning, segmentation demographics, public relations, database analysis, digital marketing and direct marketing required.
- Proven track record in building or revitalizing brands with a minimum of 3 years of experience in brand management or related roles.
- Willingness to uphold and promote the organization’s mission, vision and core values in all interactions and decision-making processes.
- High level of creativity, strategic thinking, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Must possess the ability to develop, design, write and implement a comprehensive marketing plan.
- Excellent written communication skills required, with the ability to conceptualize, write and edit many types of marketing pieces.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively required, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of individuals.
- Must possess the ability to effectively oversee many projects simultaneously with a high degree to accuracy, competency, and strong problem-solving skills.
