Job Description
Be Well. Do Well., Aramark’s sustainability plan, connects to our mission to do great things for our people, our partners, our communities, and our planet. The plan outlines two big goals – enabling equity and wellbeing for millions of people and reducing greenhouse gas emissions – and addresses the key environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments of the organization. Be Well. Do Well. helps Aramark focus and strengthen existing practices in order to drive change and deliver real, long-term value for our business and its stakeholders. The Sustainability and Wellbeing Manager will provide leadership and support for all Be Well. Do Well focused initiatives at the account level in the Collegiate Hospitality Line of Business. This role will execute sustainability and wellbeing strategies in synergy with the client mission, as well as provide industry acumen and education across the workforce. They will be responsible for understanding and communicating initiatives related to empowering healthy consumers and communities, furthering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion values, and the managing of environmental issues as well as tracking results, and identifying innovative sustainable sourcing opportunities. There is a requirement to be able to communicate and articulate Aramark’s Be Well. Do Well. programs when meeting with special interest groups, suppliers, clients, and outside organizations. The ideal candidate will be able to execute initiatives across large and distributed organizations; have the ability to understand the complex nature of advancing environmental sustainability and wellbeing in a corporate setting, and be able to communicate effectively across a broad set of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects and implementing programs involving extensive details and defined timelines.
Job Responsibilities
Sustainability and Wellbeing Program Development, Tools and Training:
- Manage the sustainability and wellbeing goals, objectives, initiatives, and strategies in collaboration with other sustainability professionals and relevant stakeholders, and their implementation.
- Communicate the effectiveness of sustainability and wellbeing initiatives and programs to stakeholders.
- Create and implement programs to encourage local sourcing, plant-forward menus, and waste reduction.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships between dining operations and local partners.
- Manage KPIs to drive progress and transparency.
- Coordinate and integrate feedback from internal and external partners to ensure relevancy and leadership positioning in the area of sustainability and wellbeing.
- Manage product origin and processing tracking, report on local purchases by location and definition (and advise on targets), liaise with suppliers to collect information, and act as an advocate for local procurement.
- Plan and host events for healthy consumer engagement and education.
- Coordinate with university and local community groups to increase food access and provide education and resources regarding food insecurity.
- Manage student intern teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required. Degree(s) related to environmental policy, science, business strongly preferred.
- 4-6 years of professional experience.
- Experience in hospitality services strongly preferred.
- Proven leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate and build relationships, and ability to lead without formal authority are required.
- Excellent attention to detail, demonstrated time management skills, ability to handle multiple priorities, and project management experience are a must.
COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $85,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
