Responsibilities Include:
Oversees and manages pre- and post-award activities for assigned principal investigators
Plans and provides fiscal management of grants
Analyzes and reconciles project identifying and resolving discrepancies
Identifies project over-runs and alerts principal investigator
Monitors, reviews, authorizes project expenditures
Oversees personnel appointments on projects
Determines and initiates journal entries
Investigates, evaluates and notifies principal investigators of funding opportunities
Provides extensive support with development and preparation of grant proposals, preparation and submission of research progress reports
Collaborates with PIs and funding sources to develop and prepare appropriate budgets for research activities
Ensures compliance with sponsor, university and third party regulations
Interprets complex rules, regulations, policies, review contract terms and conditions from sponsor
Applies advanced knowledge of university and federal regulations in order to facilitate the high volume of international collaboration and travel
Interprets complex regulations, rules and policies
Participates with training of new PIs and their staff
Performs forecasts to help with planning
Plans and prepares projects for close-out
Participates in sponsor invoicing activities and payment recognition
Participates in training new grants team staff.
Education/Experience:
Bachelors level degree in related field (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Health Administration) or equivalent experience
2 years grants or contract experience required, preferred 2-4 years of relevant experience
Experience with federal or private agency sponsors, contract/grant regulations, procurement, budgeting, accounting and financial management preferred
Knowledge of institutional, federal and other electronic research administration systems preferred
Experience in writing administrative components of grants preferred
Knowledge of OSU Office of Sponsored Programs policies and procedures desired
Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financial and Human Resources Systems desired
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen
