Head of School (Miami based Candidates Only)
Role Overview:
Score At The Top Learning Centers & Schools seeks a motivated individual to take over as Head of School in our Miami Florida location. The Head of School serves as the leader of the Score Academy campus. The HOS is responsible for student recruitment and retention and for ensuring the fulfilment of educational goals and outcomes of the school. We are seeking a positive, confident, entrepreneurial, and energetic self-starter to lead this Score Academy location. Ideal candidates thrive in a fast-paced environment with lots of autonomy. This role is ideal for individuals serving as Vice Principal’s or Assistant Principal’s who are eager to prove themselves in a top leadership position.
Responsibilities:
Sales/marketing & business development to build our learning center/school in Miami Florida:
- Enthusiastically promote our private school to prospective families
- Brainstorm new marketing ideas to promote our services
- Meet with parents to discuss educational plans for their children and to promote our services
Coordinate Educational Support Services:
- Oversee and coordinate the daily operation of our 1-on-1 and small-classroom school, promoting academic progress, good attendance rates, and school safety
- Respond to parents' phone calls for full-time school (communicate with each parent to determine his or her student's needs, match the student with the best teacher(s)/tutor(s), and keep our online database current)
- Create and manage the schedules for students and teachers
- Support teachers as they develop and implement effective syllabi
- Support teachers by suggesting appropriate classroom management techniques
- Oversee the effectiveness of all teacher-student relationships and academic instruction
- Serve as the liaison between parents and the school to address academic and other issues
- Resolve all disciplinary issues, addressing issues with students, parents, and faculty to create a positive outcome
- Help organize and oversee twice yearly parent-teacher conferences
- Determine curriculum for enrolled students
- Regularly follow-up with parents and students to ensure quality customer service
- Be a nurturing influence to our students
- Arrange professional development sessions for staff
- File & advocate for accommodation requests with College Board & ACT
- Assist in our Cognia/AdvancED reaccreditation
- Coordinate with the Learning Center Director to ensure smooth operation throughout the office
Management:
- Hire, train, oversee, and inspire the work of your staff
- Review & approve teachers' session notes before they are emailed to parents, intervening as necessary to ensure top-quality service to our students
- Ensure a smoothly running school
- Coordinate with our Controller to help ensure accurate monthly client billing and weekly payroll
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited U.S. university
- Experience with LD and ASD students is preferred
- Spanish speaking is a plus!
