Job Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and innovative Director of Executive Communication and Positioning to lead our comprehensive executive visibility program. This role is crucial in enhancing both internal and external executive platforms, promoting influence, persuasion, and reputation through a robust 360-degree framework. The Director will keep a pulse on industry and market trends, frequently assessing the competitive landscape, and benchmarking to ensure differentiation and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership:
- Design and implement a 360-degree executive communication framework that activates internal and external platforms, enhancing executive visibility and impact.
- Spearhead initiatives that position executives as influential thought leaders, driving engagement and strengthening reputation across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strategic Positioning and Differentiation:
- Develop strategic recommendations to enhance NetApp's executive communication program, ensuring it is inclusive, robust, innovative, and distinctive.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with marketing, Human Resource, Legal, the Chief of Staff, Government Relations and Corporate Communications teams to leverage executive voice effectively across all channels.
- Foster a collaborative environment that aligns messaging and strategies with NetApp's business objectives and growth aspirations.
- Executive Platforms and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Elevate executive platforms by securing high-impact speaking opportunities, media engagements, and industry events.
- Contribute to initiatives that build strong external stakeholder relationships, including with media, analysts, and macro/micro-influencers, while focusing on internal stakeholder alignment.
- Internal and External Activation:
- Drive internal engagement by aligning executive messaging with company culture and values, fostering a cohesive and motivated workforce.
- Activate external platforms to enhance brand reputation and influence, leveraging digital channels and innovative communication strategies.
- Measurement and Optimization:
- Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the executive communication program, using data-driven insights.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in executive communication, public relations, or a similar leadership role within a corporate environment.
- Exceptional writing skills with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
- Strong program management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the trends in executive positioning and digital communication channels.
- Proven ability to influence and persuade through strategic communication and storytelling.
- Strong understanding of digital communication channels, social media, and emerging platforms.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $209,000 - $286,000 and will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSUs), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
