Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years critical care experience preferred.
- Supervises Stress Testing of patients.
- Assists physicians with all special procedures requiring nursing intervention, patient care, and medication administration during cardiology studies.
- Monitors patients undergoing treadmill, nuclear stress testing, syncope studies and stress echocardiogram. Observes electrocardiograph for rhythm changes. Monitors blood pressure and observes for patient adverse reactions to procedures or treatment.
- May insert IV prior to procedure.
- Maintains equipment and inventory needed for the cardiac procedures.
- Maintains daily checklist for emergency cart.
- Assists Manager in developing and monitoring the Department Quality Improvement Plan and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury accident to Director/Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
- Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training.
- Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
- Other REQUIRED cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications (ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.) are unit specific. Please refer to the specific clinical unit.
- Please refer to the specific clinical unit for additional education, competencies and/or certification required as a condition of employment.
- Must meet all Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) personnel qualifications and responsibilities requirements for individuals directing or performing non-waived point of care testing as stated in 42 CFR, Part 493, Subpart M.
