Responsibilities
- Issue weekly component releases to suppliers, monitoring accuracy, quantity, due date, and required lead-time.
- Monitor the Supply Chain Coverage Report and Balance Due Report daily, making necessary arrangements to ensure on-time delivery of material shipments. Provide a corrective action plan to the Materials Supervisor for review and approval if a delivery concern arises.
- Maintain frequent contact with suppliers regarding part release information, weekly reconciliation, and resolution of problems.
- Develop supplier strategies aimed at improving performance measures via DMR processes, MQR processes, Supplier Corrective Action Plans, etc. Supplier Delivery Performance will measure this role's performance.
- Perform daily cycle counts of inventories, reconcile discrepancies, and provide corrective actions for immediate resolution.
- Analyze MRP data to proactively identify issues affecting Supply Chain Performance Measures (e.g., Premium Freight, Part Availability, Downtime, Packaging Shortages).
- Review and maintain the daily ASN Report to ensure receiving accuracy and timely entry into the Inventory System.
- Establish and track Freight Plan(s) to support production requirements, leading follow-up efforts and communicating updates to Management.
- Provide Corrective Action Plans for issues adversely affecting Plant Performance Measures, leading or participating in committees/teams as necessary.
- Assist in conducting physical inventories as needed.
- Establish Visual Inventory Parameters to support the 5S (storage, labeling, min/max) on the plant floor.
- Provide daily updates to KPI (Key Performance Indicators) in areas including Inventory Valuation, Inventory DOH, Cycle Counts, Inventory Accuracy, and Premium Freight.
- Provide daily Summary Reports to the Materials Supervisor or designee to support daily staff meetings assigned to the Material Manager, reporting any hot parts or supplier past due issues to leadership.
- Maintain Delivery Matrixes to the Receiving Department to track, coordinate, and communicate the timing and frequency of deliveries within the Material Handling Function.
- Maintain daily contact with Domestic and International Carriers, monitoring delivery performance to final destinations.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Materials Supervisor.
- Have the authority to stop the production process if quality concerns are detected.
Qualification/Requirements
Basic knowledge of a Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system is required; automotive experience is a plus.
Reporting Relationship
Reports to Materials Manager.
Education Required
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
Working Experience Required
Two (2) to three (3) years in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of the shipping and receiving process.
