JOB TITLE: Chief Operating Officer
OBJECTIVE: The COO provides leadership for all aspects of the company’s operations and procedures. The COO position is to secure the functionality of business to drive extensive and sustainable growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with CEO in setting and driving organization vision, operations strategy, and hiring levels.
- Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
- Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met
- Oversee the daily operations of the company operations
- Work closely with Finance to manage the company’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Implement effective systems and processes to ensure operational efficiency, productivity, and high-quality service delivery.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability through process improvements, technology adoption, and strategic partnerships.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the management team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, clients, vendors, and business partners.
- Serve as a key spokesperson for operational matters, representing the company at industry events and business meetings.
- Set performance targets and KPIs to measure operational success and drive continuous improvement.
- Write and submit reports to the CEO in all matters of importance.
- Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, projects, etc.).
- Manage relationships with partners/vendors.
- Assist CEO as directed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
- 10yrs+ in operations management and senior leadership level roles, leading diverse and cross-functional teams and multiple departments
- Demonstrated competency in strategic planning at a top business level overseeing complex business operations and high-volume revenue
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
- Excellent managerial and financial skills and the ability to take leadership over any business operations area.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate as a leader.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and public speaking skills.
- Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong understanding of in business software, including ERP systems, project management tools, and data analytics platforms.
PREFERRED:
- Education may vary’ and an advanced degree in business administration, or relevant field, MBA a plus.
- Senior leadership certifications highly preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift upwards of 25lbs at times.
- Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office setting at corporate office location.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to work 40-50 hours per week Monday – Friday, with occasional hours outside of that range as business necessitates.
