Chief Administrative Officer (Full Time)
The primary function of theChief Administrative Officer (CAO)is to provide leadership for all church and subsidiary operations activities from an organizational and administrative perspective. Your principal responsibility is solving organizational problems that touch people, personalities, and how they intersect with one another to carry out the work of the church. This critical c-suite position exists to keep theLead Pastorfocused on the primary task of governance, and the executive pastoral ministry to the church.
- Responsible for driving effectiveness in the business areas with the launch of new programs to serve the community in a manner that is consistent with the church’s vision.
- Provide ongoing training, leadership development, and fellowship opportunities for paid and volunteer staff. In essence, discover and implement ways to relationally unite the staff and volunteer leaders while increasing their leadership effectiveness.
- Expand the church’s reach, partnership, and collaborative relationships within the broader community. Going beyond name recognition to program development and management, felt needs must be met by our church through collaborative endeavors.
- Drive the financial accountability and correlation between all areas of ministry and operations to ensure adequate flow of funds, and ensure proper financial stewardship and protocols needed to adhere to the budget and fiscal responsibility. A monthly dashboard report is prepared by theCFOand approved by theCAOin order to inform theLead Pastor, Executive Team, and appropriate members of the Board of Trustees.
- Meet with your6-7 direct reportsregularly to ensure their personal growth, effectiveness in executing job responsibilities, and alignment of tasks with the church’sAnnual GoalsandFive-Year Strategic Plan.
- Review, assess, and align the members of the staff with their responsibilities so their strengths, skills, and passions are optimized. Help develop and reinforce the best culture and environment that leads to enjoyment of the workplace, as well as high output of the staff, to achieve the organization’s stated missional objectives articulated in the church’sFive-Year Strategic Plan.
- Research and/or develop seminars and training curriculum that educates the staff and volunteers with the neededHR policies and human management principlesthat make for a strong and engaging work environment.
- The ideal candidate will have abachelor’s degree in business (or a related field), though anMBAis preferred.They will have a minimum of 10 years in middle to upper-management positions, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The CAO must be a team builder, with the ability to develop and supervise a group of professionals while keeping production up and the team on task.
