ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are on the lookout for a dynamic and community-centric General Manager for our Courtyard by Marriott Baton Rouge Downtown hotel. We are in search of someone with an outgoing personality, a flair for creativity, and a strategic mindset to lead our hotel team.
In this pivotal role, you will embody an entrepreneurial spirit, leveraging your leadership skills and sales acumen to foster a team dedicated to delivering an outstanding experience for both guests and team members.
Situated at the iconic corner of Florida and Third Street, the Courtyard by Marriott Baton Rouge Downtown hotel is nestled in the heart of Downtown Baton Rouge surrounded by restaurants and attractions.
Our hotel boasts 135 well-appointed guest rooms and a host of amenities including a fitness center, The Bistro food and beverage outlet, and a full-service Starbucks Licensed Store among others.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Oversee day-to-day hotel operations to ensure seamless guest services and efficient workflows.
- Actively engage in the local community to further increase brand/product awareness via approved memberships, charitable activities, and business community/networking events.
- Foster partnerships with local businesses to enhance guest experiences and drive revenue.
- Establish and maintain high operational standards in all areas, including housekeeping, front desk, food and beverage, and facilities management.
- Implement strategies to enhance revenue generation, cost control, and operational efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance guest satisfaction and profitability.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience managing select service or full-service hotels.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
