Position Purpose:
Responsible for strategic financial leadership of the corporate services functions including treasury operations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and indirect tax. Partners with business leadership to achieve key financial and operational objectives. Support strategic and business planning for business unit(s) and measure performance/progress against stated objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as financial leader and strategic thought partner for capability advancements, advising on investment decisions, risk tradeoffs, and vendor relationships/negotiations.
- Performance management and analytical support for financial performance particularly cash flow and balance sheet reserves.
- Responsible for internal controls and disclosure controls for quarterly signoff for operations finance areas.
- Proactively strengthen working relationships throughout the organization in support of business objectives.
- Supervision and development of finance staff.
- Coach and develop outcome-oriented professionals in supported business function(s) and within Finance, build enhanced capabilities through talent development, ongoing coaching, and performance management.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Accuracy, timeliness, efficiency of financial reporting and compliance efforts (minimal number of deficiencies).
- Mitigation of risks through effective internal control design, monitoring and testing to minimize surprises.
- Productivity – leveraging the costs of operating financial accounting and compliance teams (as % of net sales).
- Team effectiveness and advancement of Finance team capabilities including technology.
Position Requirements:
- 7+ years’ experience in Finance with direct leadership experience.
- Accounting and/or treasury background preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- MBA desired.

- Strong passion for Sleep Number including its mission, vision, and values.
- PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) including Excel and database skills.
- GL accounting background.
- Oracle knowledge desired.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment – 8 hours standing/sitting.
- Regular computer use.
