We are looking for a talented and motivated Finance Director – Search, Ads and Copilot, which includes Bing, News and Copilot businesses to help shape the future of our advertising business.
We are looking for a Finance Director for our Search, Ads and Copilot business to build comprehensive and engaging content, services, and platforms for consumers to access the information they need anywhere on any device and for enterprises to enhance their employee and customer experiences. Our mission is to delight users everywhere with the best search experience and we are focused on creating competitive and differentiated search quality experiences. This role will drive investment decisions across AI workloads such as chats and copilots, platform transformation, and search quality. It will also provide financial insights and guidance to engineering and finance leaders on key metrics such as gross margin, vertical profit and loss (P&Ls), and cost to serve, and help achieve long-term financial goals.

Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a talented, high performing team of individual contributors through application of our management philosophy of Model, Coach and Care.
- Be trusted adviser for the engineering leaders on financial objectives, strategic investments, and efficiency opportunities. Land the gross margin goals and profit & loss (P&L) principles with engineering leaders and execute them throughout the year.
- Reduce platform unit costs and maximize return on invested capital by delivering leverage across the hardware and infrastructure utilization. Use frameworks and storytelling techniques to communicate clear and simple messages to executives.
- Own analytical frameworks, unit economic models, reporting insights and external benchmarks to define north star unit costs, for the platform. Accelerate platform scale, fungibility and utilization improvements to desired steady state. Influence leaders to develop engineering levers, execute while enabling feature, quality differentiation.
- Co-own and influence multi-year plan, focus, accountability, and incentives to accelerate gross margin.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 10+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) experience managing direct reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Established leadership skills with analytical modeling and strategic thinking.
- Proven data and financial modeling capabilities and ability to work with financial systems.
- Ability to communicate complex analysis in a simple way. Executive level oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated results proactively driving and delivering high value/high-impact project through both individual and v-team efforts.
- Collaborative partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence others without direct authority and appropriately push back as required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, quickly prioritize for impact and the resourcefulness to deliver.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.
