System design, programming, installation, and maintenance are performed by our in-house staff. This individual will play a key role as part of the Senior Management Team, with the goal of growing the business through a focus on processes that support the cultivation of client relationships, high-quality proposals, and project profitability. Responsible for managing the sales opportunity to project inception, through oversight of the Engineering and AV Programming departments. Partners with the VP of Operations to support the project management function.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Setting the vision, strategy, and long-term goals for the engineering department.
- Ensuring the technical competence and reputation of the engineering department is enhanced and developed to consistently meet the technical requirements of incoming projects and the company’s strategic development plans.
- Insure processes are in place to manage opportunities with the goal of converting them to projects. Maximize the use of technology in this effort.
- Create and manage a team process to facilitate effective communication among the Sales, Engineering, and Programming staff.
- Manage the process of proposal generation to ensure each proposal meets the client’s needs, is properly engineered, and is financially profitable.
- Insure that any CAD plans and proposals are congruent and convey a level of consistency prior to the project kickoff meeting.
- Provide oversight of staff to ensure all CRM tasks are completed in a timely fashion, and that regular updating of CRM occurs.
- Conduct regular team meetings to ensure daily and weekly priorities are clearly conveyed and understood.
- Support the VP of Operations in the Project Management function, as it relates to Sales, Engineering, and Programming (i.e., upsell, schematic level drawings, as-built plans, and programmer assignments).
- Represent the business at conferences, trade fairs, and networking events.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL DISPLAY THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Minimum education with B.S. in Engineering Preferred.
- 5+ years in an engineering management role, working closely with operations in the technology industry.
- Proven track record with regard to creation and implementation of systems and processes.
- Highly computer literate with a demonstrated understanding of how technology plays a role in the success of a business.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to interface with all levels of personnel and clients.
