We are seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive team and drive operational excellence across our organization.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the daily administrative and operational functions of EVG Specialty Network. This role requires a strategic and operational leader who can drive efficiency, growth, and innovation across the network. The COO will work closely with the CEO and Network team to ensure that all business operations align with the organization’s strategic goals and values. The position is remote; however, the candidate must be in the Eastern Time Zone and have convenient access to a major airport due to the role's travel requirements.
Travel will consist of quarterly Board meetings, annual team summits, 1-2 veterinary conferences per year, periodic visits to hospitals and visits to the network headquarters. In the beginning of this role, 1 week per month may be required. After that, travel will be on an as needed basis for the functions listed.
Key Responsibilities:- Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the EVG Specialty Network, ensuring efficient processes, high-quality patient care, and exceptional client experiences across all hospitals.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement strategic plans that support the company’s mission, growth, and long-term success.
- Financial Management: Work closely with the Director of Finance to manage the budget, control costs, and optimize financial performance. Ensure all operational activities are cost-effective and align with financial objectives.
- Performance Management: Establish performance metrics, goals, and KPIs for hospital managers and department heads. Monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes.
- Talent Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team. Oversee recruitment, retention, and professional development of hospital management and support staff.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all hospitals comply with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and internal policies to maintain a high standard of veterinary care and patient safety.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, patient care, and client satisfaction across the network.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other executive leaders in finance, HR, marketing, and other departments to align operational activities with overall business goals.
- Business Development: Support growth initiatives, including acquisitions, expansions, and partnerships, by providing operational insights and managing integration processes.
Qualifications:- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior operational leadership role, within the healthcare, veterinary, or specialty veterinary care sectors.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence, managing complex projects, and achieving financial and operational goals.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and navigate complex organizational challenges.
- Experience with financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support operational needs and business development.
- Must be located in the Eastern Time Zone and within close proximity to a major airport.

$180,000 - $220,000 a year
Salary is negotiable based on skills and experience.
