A diverse, community-based health care organization, named one of the top five health centers in the nation for excellence in cultural competency, is seeking a Dentist to join their enthusiastic dental team providing services for children and adults.
Summary:
- Deliver culturally competent and high-quality care to a diverse patient population of all ages utilizing nationally accepted evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Promote an environment that is patient-centric and fosters a high level of patient satisfaction.
- Provide excellent customer service to all patients and staff.
- Utilize best practices, evidenced-based dentistry, and ADA standards of care in guiding clinical practice, quality of care, and productivity goals.
- Improve patient well-being through accurate and timely diagnosis, high quality dental treatment, and oral health prevention and education.
- Conduct intraoral and extraoral examinations with dental instruments, x-rays, and other diagnostic equipment to evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases or abnormalities, and plan appropriate treatments.
- Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, or malformations of teeth, gums, or related oral structures and provide preventive or corrective services.
- Perform various restorative and therapeutic procedures according to level of training, such as direct restorations, endodontic treatment (preferred anterior and posterior experience), periodontal therapy, minor surgical procedures, crowns, and bridges.
- Record patient interactions in EHR as they occur to accurately and completely reflect the nature of the contact, condition of the patient, and care provided.
- Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and appropriate confidentiality with patient charting, recordkeeping, and administrative functions.
- Triage and perform emergency dental care.
- Ensure execution, proper follow up, and continued care of patient treatment plans, including patients referred for specialty care.
- Participate in after-hours call coverage on a rotational basis, to triage and remotely treat dental emergencies as appropriate.
- Utilize and implement infection control measures to protect patients, staff, and self from infectious diseases.
- Assist Chief and other providers in support, direction, training, and oversight of staff and students by coaching and mentoring to achieve department objectives in the delivery of services to staff and patients.
- Supervise the work of dental hygienists, limited license dentists as applicable, and dental assistants.
- Maintain open lines of communication with staff, peers and supervisors.
- Promote a culture of innovation, learning, teamwork and professional practice, prioritizing the mission, vision and values of the organization.
- Participate in departmental and organizational meetings.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance and performance improvement plans and participate in organization-wide improvement projects.
- Assist with adverse event root cause analysis as needed.
- Follow procedures and processes within departmental operations, in compliance with the Joint Commission, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, OSHA, and other state and federal regulations.
- Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times.
Requirements:
- A current and valid licensure to practice dentistry by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
- D.M.D. or D.D.S. required from a university-based dental education program accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (ADA CODA).
- International Dentists welcome to apply. Must be eligible to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, including, if applicable, a minimum passing score on TOEFL or IELTS exam.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice of general dentistry preferred.
- Current CPR-BLS, MA controlled substance and DEA numbers.
