About the role:
Neovera is seeking a Network Engineer to help implement and troubleshoot security and networking controls on customer premises and in the customer Data Centers. This position will report directly to the Lead Network Engineer. You will require good analytical skills, good communication skills (written and verbal), and highly technical skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting Sr Network Security Engineers in hands–on/onsite deployments
- Troubleshoot network security issues at customer locations throughout the southern MD and Northern VA areas. Escalate to senior engineers as necessary.
- Independent work on: Cisco ISR routers, Cisco cat and Meraki switches, and Cisco Meraki WAPs
- Technical and analytical skills to handle security incidents and threats
- Resolve or escalate incidents
- Provide timely and reliable service to customers
- Document designs, solutions, processes, and procedures
Requirements:
- 4 – 6 years of information security and networking experience
- Experience doing IT Security automation with scripting and/or programming languages
- 24/7 SOC experience working with or for an MSP and/or an MSSP is highly desirable
- Security experience with Microsoft Azure environments and security tools such as Microsoft Firewalls, Application Gateway/WAF, Network Security Groups (NSGs), VPN
- Gateway and/or comparable 3rd party vendor security products in Azure
- Programming/shell scripting experience highly desirable (Powershell, Python, Java, shell scripts, etc.)
- Experience with multivendor security and platforms such as Cisco ASA & Firepower
- Experience with multivendor network platforms such as Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches and Cisco ISR and ASR routers
- Curiosity and strong desire to constantly learn
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or equivalent demonstrated experience and knowledge.
- Solid understanding of application, operating system, and network security
- Requirement for on–call work and working in a 24x7x365 environment
- Keen ability to troubleshoot technical, network, and security problems
