Director, ECP Chief of Staff
As a Director, Chief of Staff (CoS), you’ll join the Chief of Staff team within Enterprise Consumer Product (ECP). ECP’s mission is to deliver transformative customer experiences, and the user-centric platforms that enable them, to empower Capital One customers on their financial journeys and beyond. In this role, you will support ECP senior leadership, contributing to organizational excellence, helping drive associate engagement and delivering flawlessly executed processes that improve business efficiency. You will be a thought leader, collaborating with teams and driving results that have a direct impact on ECP’s overall success. This work is high-visibility and high-impact, reporting directly into the Sr. Director, Chief of Staff, and supporting a Senior Vice President’s leadership team.

You will need to be highly organized and emotionally intelligent to work with our leadership team to frame up strategic proposals, keep a pulse on team health, morale and engagement, design and execute key projects, and lead business priorities and activities. The ideal candidate can connect the dots between good process and great results, effectively influence others to achieve organizational goals, and facilitate a vocal leadership team toward purposeful outcomes. Candidates should be self-motivated, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, executive presence, and a passion for solving complex problems. Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior product leaders on operational improvement efforts, acting as a thought partner to provide initial framing of proposals
- Lead special project autonomously through partnership with product leaders, cross-functional teams (tech, design and their CoS) and horizontal partners (product operations, recruiting, finance, Risk HR, etc)
- Align operations/routines, with strategy and ensure alignment to organizational goals
- Develop relationships across the organization to be able to act as an informed and helpful sounding board and thought partner
- Support associate engagement and contribute to events and culture efforts
- Facilitate operational rhythms, meeting management and administration
- Provide change management support to critical operational efforts
- Build and maintain effective, scalable processes to manage operational routines
- Work with the leadership team and communications team to plan and execute key messages to leaders, partners and associates
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate strong communications proficiency, including across teams and organizations, and have experience utilizing oral and written communication skills along with presentation skills.
- Have the ability to multitask with simultaneous projects and tasks, while demonstrating urgency, prioritization, and ownership to drive issues to completion.
- Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to be goal/execution-oriented
- Be able to react seamlessly to change in priorities and delivery focus
- Be self-motivated
- Be capable of balancing strategy and tactical delivery
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
- At least 7 years of experience in Chief of Staff, change management, or program management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or organizational development
- Prior experience working closely with executives
- Prior Chief of Staff experience
- 8+ years of experience in Project, program or process management -Experience managing visible projects which require the ability to manage cross-functional team members, remove obstacles and influence appropriately
- 8+ years of experience in Communications planning and development, including department communications, leadership team meetings, presentations, memos and reports
