Structured Communication Systems, Inc is seeking a Cloud Consulting Engineer (Azure) located in the Pacific Northwest to join our Cloud Solutions team that will be responsible for guiding the design and implementation of secure solutions and services across our client’s business and IT infrastructure using the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. This includes a strong understanding of cloud computing technology, cloud management, cloud infrastructure design, and network and security architecture. The role requires deep technical expertise, excellent customer service skills, and a passion to stay current with the latest trends in cloud computing. A comprehensive solution includes the development, documentation, and implementation of best practices across multiple technical areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs, builds, and implements enterprise-class cloud solutions for a variety of clients in Azure.
- Works closely with clients to architect and implement Azure cloud solutions that meet their business requirements and align with their IT strategy.
- Performs technical presentations for customers, partners, and prospects.
- Engages with clients to understand their business drivers and application portfolios.
- Develops and maintains technical skills in Microsoft Azure Services, cloud-related technologies, and other core technologies.
- Evaluates and recommends tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality of cloud service.
- Ensures efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
- Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients’ needs.
- Uses responsible and methodical engineering practices to lower project and customer risk.
- Collaborates with Structured and customer engineers to support complex technical tasks.
- Leads and develops best practices for larger Cloud and Systems Engineering teams.
- Identifies and corrects faults and provides resolution of complex problem tickets escalated from Structured’s help desk.
- Assists sales personnel with pre-sales technical support; leverage technical background to identify professional service opportunities in the areas of security, networking, storage/systems, virtualization, and voice/mobility.
- Supervises and checks the status of projects and work assignments.
- Documents designs and scope projects in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
- Supports and provides knowledge transfer to clients.
- Provides input for professional service statements of work (“SOW”) and creates SOWs as directed and provides project management services (as needed).
- Responsible for following the current policies and procedures for tracking activities in our CRM tool, Salesforce.com.

- Proactively learn and utilize new technologies, concepts, and procedures as necessary based upon project requirements.

- Excellent project management, project scoping, troubleshooting, problem resolution, documentation, and customer management skills required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in information systems or a related field, or 3 – 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Cloud Solutions.
- Proven work experience as a Cloud Consultant, Cloud Architect, or similar role.
- Expert level knowledge of Azure Cloud infrastructure and its services.
- Experience with cloud migration strategies (Cloud Native, Lift & Shift).
- Experience with Windows Server, Linux Servers, Load Balancers, Networking, and complex Cloud Native solutions.
- Good understanding of Azure Cloud platform and its services – including but not limited to: App Services, Azure Data Lake, Azure Container Service, Azure Environment.
- Good understanding of databases, including SQL, NoSQL, scaling, performance tuning, and migrations.
- Certifications in Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Developer Associate, or Azure Administrator Associate are preferred.
- AWS certification is a plus.
General Office Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be an experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite and have experience with customer relationship management (CRM) tools, such as Salesforce.com.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quotes and reports. Ability to correspond, effectively present information, and respond to questions from employees, management, vendors, and customers.

Work is performed in both a general office environment, as well as a data center environment. Within the general office environment both the lighting and temperature are generally moderate. The data center environment is generally cool in temperature and the lighting is moderate; the noise level in the data center environment is generally loud.
Must have a valid Driver’s License and the ability to travel to customer locations and other destinations for short to medium-term projects. This position may also require an adjusted work schedule and evening hours in order to meet or attend vendor/customer needs. Flexibility to field phone calls, pager, or system alerts and provide remote and/or on-site support to clients outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays.
