Intelligent Waves is seeking a Vice President of Growth to work closely with the COO to focus on positioning and capturing new business contracts within the National Security community and Department of Defense, including the Air Force market. We are looking for an energetic person with a track record of success leading business development/capture teams and winning new contracts.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 30% of the time and will be reimbursed based on IW policy, GSA Per Diem rates and DoD Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) as required.
Security Clearance: This Vice President of Growth must be a United States Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate the corporate growth strategies in collaboration with the executive leadership team.
- Execute business development strategies for organic and new business growth by identifying, qualifying, and managing capture of a robust opportunity pipeline.
- Identify or qualify new clients, new market segments and assess operational problems or issues to stay ahead in the competitive market.
- Manage win strategy, discriminators, and value propositions for opportunities through teaming strategies, partnership arrangements, competitive analysis, and price to win for bids and proposals.
- Lead capture opportunities and proposal team activities.
- Provide leadership for business development with focus on year over year revenue growth.
- Actively participate in the identification and qualification process of potential business opportunities to ensure the business model supports the strategic goals and objectives.
- Establish trust with the Government technical points of contacts on current and new contracts.
- Meet with clients and potential prospects on a regular basis to build and nurture the relationship. Effectively understand client needs.
- Build and sustain trusted advisor relationships with senior client executives. Coordinate and support face-to-face customer meetings with senior management and C-Level Executives.
- Support strategic long-range planning, market analyses, and forecast data for DoD, VA, and commercial market sector.
- Responsible for getting feedback from the clients, networking effectively to acquire new business clients, to study and develop strategies for improvement of business products and services, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 12-15 years of Business Development related experience, including 10 years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects in the Federal Government sector.
- Proven track record of successful capture and pipeline management across multiple intel community organizations and program offices at a variety of acquisition sizes.
- Experience working directly with intel community and DoD personnel.
- Demonstrated access to key government customers and industry partners.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Ability to use automated tools such as Microsoft Office to present ideas, information, and reports and a customer relationship management to track opportunities and manage pipeline.
- Experience with intel community/DoD budget, investments and acquisition processes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to develop, organize and execute significant capture activities, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans to shape acquisitions, in order to respond to and win business with new and existing customers.
- Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish a solid working relationship with senior management, technical staff, division managers, and peers.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Travel as required.
