McMillen, Inc. is looking for a Director of Construction Management to lead our Construction Management Program on various water resource related projects. This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will be a recognized leader in construction management for large water resources projects with demonstrated technical expertise in construction management and project management, particularly as it applies to dams, energy, fisheries, infrastructure, or natural resources. We are looking for someone with the demonstrated ability to direct and supervise project teams comprised of staff with highly specialized expertise on water resources projects with a high degree of foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
Responsibilities:
- Leads discussions, meetings, and workshops on large and complex projects.
- Ensures that all deliverables produced by the team meet risk management requirements.
- Takes leadership role in the marketing of large pursuits and may serve as a primary marketing contact.
- Develops strategies resulting in opportunities with new and existing clients.
- Plans, creates, and oversees deliverables such as schedules, specifications, and budget reports.
- Implements and leads technical reviews and management of QA/QC programs for large projects in the water resources area of expertise and ensures compliance with client or company policies.
- Provides input to company strategic initiatives and objectives.
- Manages various technical aspects for multiple projects at a time that require support staff and resources.
- Oversees construction management teams consisting of resident engineers, office/field engineers, inspectors, and other technical consultant disciplines.
- Acts as project owner's representative in managing construction contractors, including acting as a primary point of contact with contractors, and performing contract administration duties such as payments, change orders, time extensions, and certificates of completion.
- Performs constructability, biddability, schedule, and budget reviews at the preconstruction phase of the project.
- Supports design projects by performing constructability reviews.
- Ability to take on the role of Program Manager for increasingly larger and complex projects.
- Shows a consistent track record of delivering projects on time and budget.
- Technical ability and experience to manage projects with fees up to and beyond $50 Million.
Qualifications:
- 20+ years heavy civil engineering or construction management experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Benefit if holds engineering professional registration/certification or other engineering specialty certification.
- 20+ years specialized management experience in the construction management of large and complex civil projects.
- Proven track record to deliver heavy civil projects on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise project teams comprised of 5+ staff with specialized expertise on heavy civil projects.
- Demonstrates a high degree of foresight and mature judgement in anticipating and solving heavy civil project problems.
- Must have the ability to professionally speak and write in English.
- Must have the ability to travel to project sites within the US, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Compensation Package:
- Pay Range: $175,000 - $225,000 annual (DOE).
