If so, we're seeking a Builder to join our Strategic Sales team and develop our most complex and strategic deals for public sector customers across the ASEAN region. This is an opportunity to lead virtual deal teams in helping customers envision and achieve their transformation goals.
As a Senior Strategic Sales lead, you will:
- Leverage cross-vertical expertise across public sector domains (e.g., government, education, research, healthcare) and a breadth of functional expertise (e.g., complex sales, pursuit program management) to work with our most senior executive customers.
- Provide direction, guidance and sound judgment to account owners and specialist teams located throughout the Asia-Pacific region to support your customers.
- Collaborate closely with diverse AWS teams, including sales, partner, business development, legal and public policy, as well as AWS leadership, to identify, develop and secure strategic opportunities.
- Passionately develop win plans, lead consultative selling with executive stakeholders, and seamlessly integrate AWS Partner capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have a background in large deal modelling, strategic pursuits, consulting or business development, as well as a strong understanding of cloud adoption trends and challenges in the ASEAN public sector. You will need to think big and strategically about the customer's mission, then build and convey compelling value propositions.
To succeed in this role, you must be an exceptional communicator who can lead with confidence even in highly ambiguous situations. You'll need to earn trust, embrace ownership, and establish yourself as a thought leader in originating transformative public sector deals.

Key job responsibilities
- Leveraging your deep industry expertise and executive presence to steer account teams and drive alignment on complex, high-stakes pursuits.
- Facilitating seamless coordination between specialized functions - from sales and technical to legal and government relations - to build winning strategies.
- Working in lockstep with AWS leadership to chart the course for our most ambitious public sector initiatives, ensuring they are fully resourced and positioned for success.
- Establishing yourself as a trusted advisor who can navigate ambiguity, make crucial decisions, and mobilize the full power of AWS to the benefit of our government, education, and healthcare customers.
- Influencing C-level executives and government leaders to build trusted, long-lasting relationships.
- Building the case for change and preparing board-ready presentations and briefings to communicate with senior executive stakeholders.
- Growing the net new originated pipeline for the ASEAN business through your deal-shaping expertise.
- Orchestrating the development of opportunity strategies and winning pursuits that span multiple public sector verticals.
- Partnering closely with sales leadership and the field sales organization to drive alignment and execution.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with teams across Amazon and our partner ecosystem (legal, product, engineering, architecture, structuring, professional services) to deliver winning pursuit strategies.
A day in the life
- Start the day reviewing the latest pipeline updates and customer engagement plans with the ASEAN regional sales team
- Present to the CEO of a major government agency to understand their digital transformation priorities and pain points
- Facilitate a workshop with cross-functional AWS specialists to ideate innovative solutions tailored to the customer's needs and build the win strategy
- Craft a compelling business case and executive presentation for a multi-million dollar transformation initiative
- Drive a deal review with AWS sales leadership to align on pursuit strategy and secure necessary approvals and resources
- Collaborate with the legal and public policy teams to navigate complex procurement requirements and contractual terms

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of technology related sales, business development or equivalent experience
- Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience selling cloud solutions at a software company or equivalent
- 9+ years of technology related sales, business development or equivalent experience
- Experience with AWS and technology as a service (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
