McCormick & Company, Inc., a world leader in the spice, flavor and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time IT BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP CONSULTANT I on a Program Leo - Business Transformation supporting a major industrial customer. This new hire will work in Global HQ, located in Hunt Valley, MD. The IT BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP CONSULTANT I will report to a VP IT BUSINESS SOLUTIONS.

Position Overview
- This position acts as the primary liaison to business workstream leaders and uses in-depth knowledge of our applications and tools to facilitate the optimization of business unit performance by enhancing the alignment between business process and information technology.
- The IT Business Relationship Consultant I is responsible for solution identification and design, translating business needs and objectives into solutions and technology roadmaps and solution delivery for assigned area.
- Primary focus is to shape global business processes to align with leading practice capabilities, whenever a competitive advantage is not required. This position serves as the top functional or technical consultant on all projects touching their area of expertise.
- On all but the largest projects, the incumbent may act as the IT Project Manager. The incumbent also has functional and technical expertise in multiple technical areas (EDI, Workflow, BW, Portal, etc.) across business subprocesses.
Key Responsibilities
• Business Relationship Management – Primary liaison to business workstream leader to define solution, address business objectives, enable efficiencies. Influence business LTP with technology acumen.
• Owns IT LTP in area of expertise. Working closely with steering committees, business leads, BRD, internal and external customers, vendors, and peer companies, research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies to support McCormick’s strategic initiatives.
• Seeking constant improvement opportunities and appropriately challenges processes, streamline and optimize business and/or IT processes.
• May serve as project functional leader, team member, or IT Project Manager on multiple applications, technology projects, and strategic planning initiatives.
• For projects, formulate systems scope, estimates, and objectives relative to business needs and project requirements, considering application of industry best practices and new technologies.
• Participates in project design reviews for large (Tier 1 and 2) projects.
Required Qualifications
Level of Education and Discipline: BA/BSc - Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related discipline.
Certification and/or Licenses: SAP, PMP.
Experience functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen: 12 years in-depth experience with 5 years expertise in more than one functional area. Minimum of 5 full life-cycle implementations, preferably including 2 with global deployment. Solution design experience across multiple sub-processes or SAP modules (e.g., Order to cash, procure to pay, record to report or SAP modules such as SD, MM, HR, APO, FI, PP, GTS, etc.) and technical area (e.g., EDI, Workflow, BW, Portal). Demonstrated ability to lead in problem-solving process for projects and support.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build relationships, interface effectively with all levels of leadership, interactions, communication, influence organization. Ability to influence across functional teams and manage relationships across multiple cultures. Excellent organizational and verbal communication skills; outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment. Capable of assigning work and monitoring follow-through and output. Demonstrated written communication skills, specifically, documentation of system design, configuration, and process specifications.
Other Skills and HPO Competencies: Expertise in delivery, project management, process management, and business systems requirements definition. Knowledgeable of non-SAP tools used at McCormick.
Dimension: Participates in projects, typically $1-10MM, with team size that can exceed 50 people.
