Job Title: Director of Facilities
Compensation: $165,000 - $185,000 Annual Salary
The base salary or hourly wage range for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. About the Role:
The Director of Facilities will be a strategic leader responsible for creating and implementing processes that ensure the long-term maintenance, efficiency, and operational readiness of all Din Tai Fung locations. Reporting directly to the VP of Development, this role will lead the development and continuous improvement of facilities management strategies, oversee a team of regional managers, and ensure the effective execution of those strategies. The Director will also play a pivotal role in the seamless handoff from construction to operational readiness for new restaurant openings (NROs), focusing on continuous improvement and optimal resource management.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Facilities Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities management strategy that supports the operational goals of the company. Oversee all aspects of maintenance, repairs, and facility improvements, ensuring consistent delivery of premium standards across all locations.
- New Restaurant Openings (NRO): Create and optimize the processes for the transition from construction to operational handoff. Ensure a strategic approach to readiness, focusing on integrating systems, warranties, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Warranty and Lifecycle Management: Design and implement a warranty management process that ensures the timely resolution of defects, tracking performance data to optimize future specifications and construction practices.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the Facilities team with a focus on continuous improvement and scalability. Build training programs that enhance team skills and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Vendor and Partnership Strategy: Develop and execute a vendor management strategy that focuses on long-term partnerships and service-level optimization. Negotiate contracts and establish performance benchmarks to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
- Cost Efficiency and Resource Allocation: Establish and implement cost management strategies, focusing on reducing operational costs while maintaining high-quality standards in all facilities. Optimize resource allocation across the portfolio.
- Compliance and Safety Leadership: Develop safety protocols and ensure all facilities meet compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement in facility operations.
- Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Programs: Create and lead programs focused on extending the lifespan of equipment and facilities. Implement predictive maintenance using data analytics to proactively manage issues before they become critical.
- Crisis and Emergency Management: Develop robust emergency response strategies for facilities-related incidents. Lead crisis management protocols to ensure minimal disruption to operations and guest experiences.
- Analytics and Continuous Improvement: Use data analytics to monitor and evaluate the performance of facilities across all locations. Generate insights that lead to actionable improvements in design, construction, and maintenance practices to drive long-term operational success.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industries.
- Proven experience in developing and executing strategic facilities management programs across multiple locations.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing large teams.
- In-depth knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Experience working collaboratively across departments and external partners to drive results.
- Proficiency in facilities management software and tools, with a strong focus on analytics-driven decision-making
- Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to lead in high-pressure environments.
