About the position:
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior/Principal Scientist (title commensurate with experience) with a strong background in fluorescence microscopy imaging and immuno-oncology /oncology. This position is primarily laboratory-based and requires strong experimental experience with cell-based assays, fluorescence microscopy, and data analysis & visualization. As an integral part of our R&D team, you will demonstrate world-class research skills and drive cross-disciplinary assay development projects. Most importantly, you will play a key role in scaling up our multi-omics platform! You will operate with a high level of autonomy, but also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams. Frequent interactions with internal and external stakeholders require a collaborative work ethic, strong communication & presentation skills, and the capacity to prioritize to meet critical goals.
In this role, you will:
- Drive R&D efforts to develop assays utilizing our proprietary multi-omics platform and incorporate new technologies to accelerate the discovery and development of innovative immune-oncology therapies.
- Execute technical and laboratory aspects of in-house assay development projects, including designing and executing major experiments and testing programs, evaluating test data, and preparing associated documentation and reports.
- Author study protocols, develop processes, prepare laboratory documents, such as SOPs, forms, and technical reports, in support of assay validation transfer.
- Prioritize and manage team resources to best achieve company objectives.
- Prepare & communicate highly technical methods and report team progress to a wider audience (internal and external).
- Support strategic collaboration projects and serve as project lead as appropriate.
Required Experience:
- MSc or PhD degree in a relevant scientific discipline
- 2-5+ years of experience with cell-based assays in drug discovery, cancer biology, or related fields
- Excellent understanding of HC /HT imaging and data analysis
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong background in cell & molecular biology and oncology /immuno-oncology
- Extensive experience in cell culture techniques, cell separation and expansion, IF assays, fluorescent microscopy, and image analysis /software (e.g., MetaXpress, CellProfiler, ImageJ)
- Demonstrated experience in developing CBAs, ideally using primary patient samples
- Track record of good experimental design, independent, in-depth data analysis and interpretation based on strong scientific rationale
- Must be curious and enjoy working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Must be a self-starter and strong individual contributor who excels in open, collaborative environments
- Must be able to maintain detailed records in a regulated environment
Nice to have:
- Background in hematological malignancies
- Experience with multi-omic assays and analysis
- Biopharma collaboration/strategic partnering experience
- Familiarity with development and/or commercialization of cell-based assays /therapeutics
- Experience with Python, R, GraphPad Prism, Matlab
- Experience with microfluidic devices and miniaturized assays
- Experience working in/developing assays for a CLIA laboratory
- Experience with automation integration
