Job Summary
Work in tandem with the Director of Program Administration on strategic programs to achieve Break Through Tech's mission to broaden participation of women and other minoritized students in computing by December 2026. Ideate, implement, and review both short-term and long-term programs to grow and strengthen the Break Through Tech Miami community.
- Pursues strategic partnerships with all stakeholders and entities who affect Break Through Tech Miami programs.
- Serves as the University's credit card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University's credit card policies and procedures.
- Ensures that the Break Through Tech-Miami project goals of curriculum innovation, career access, and community developments are met.
- Lead by ideating and implementing all community building, marketing, and communication initiatives for the purpose of meeting the enrollment targets of the Break Through Tech Miami grant, in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
- Serves as an integral part of the team within the campus and national initiative as well as the Knight Foundation School of Computer and Information Sciences and the College of Engineering and Computing. Leverages University's career development resources, alumni relationships, and other programs to increase and diversify the number of employers recruiting FIU College of Engineering and Computing undergraduate students for internships and full-time hires. Working with minors and vulnerable people.
- Assists in leading and managing the Break Through Tech-Miami Project. Contributes to the planning, development, and implementation of the project goals, programs, and initiatives to achieve success.
- Ensures compliance with FIU policies, procedures, practices, and with federal, state, and local legal/regulatory standards.
- Serves as liaison between the Break Through Tech-Miami team, the Knight Foundation School of Computer and Information Science, other departments within the College of Engineering and Computing, as well as external constituents.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, education, or related field and six (6) years of related work experience or Master's degree in business, education, or related field and four (4) years of related work experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience ideating and implementing programs to grow a community of successful learners in the computing or related fields.
