PACT MSO has a busy Gastroenterology office that is seeking a Patient Scheduler. The hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. The position is floating between office locations in Hamden, Milford and Guilford.
The position is responsible for scheduling all patient appointments for the practice.
Essential Functions
- Obtain demographic information and history that will allow appointments to be booked appropriately, and schedule appointments according to provider guidelines.
- Set up insurance information.
- Accommodate patient preferences within the specified time frame and guidelines of the procedure order.
- Follow facility exclusion criteria and scheduling guidelines while scheduling.
- Consistently provide culturally sensitive service to all patients and coworkers.
- Maintain full and efficient schedules and identify changes in scheduling patterns and report to management.
- Maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, or other sensitive materials and information in verbal, electronic or printed form.
- Competently explain pre-procedure instructions to patients and significant others or guardians.
Skills and Knowledge
- Effective and professional written and verbal skills.
- Demonstrated experience with EHR and scheduling.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimal experience with scheduling.
Travel Required
Yes. Hamden, Milford and Guilford.
