What you'll be doing...
The Director of SMB Expansion is responsible for leading a team of Associate Directors, Managing Partners, and inside sales professionals targeting the Verizon Connect small and medium business customer base for expansion opportunities. This team of 140+ is responsible for enabling our prospects and customers to leverage Verizon Connect's full spectrum of innovative telematics and logistics services, and software and hardware technology to enable growth, drive efficiency and safety, and optimize investor returns. In this role, you will be responsible for this segment's strategic direction and will also play a critical role in defining and impacting the customer journey, retention, and our communication cadence with our customers.
The Director will be dedicated to leading and managing all sales functions in North American SMB Expansion Sales, with the goal of meeting and exceeding all business metrics/objectives, including revenue, sales, and SG&A. The key strategic priorities will be to maximize revenue growth through the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of sales, marketing, and service programs and initiatives. You will react to market opportunities and competitive changes, address sales performance weaknesses, and move swiftly to prospect and upsell/cross-sell opportunities through the implementation of targeted campaigns and organization design/strategy.
The Director will make sound and timely business decisions to drive short-term and long-term performance, align selling resources with the greatest opportunities in the most cost-effective ways, ensure all sales employees are treated fairly and are paid accurately, improve sales performance through better processes, technology and methodologies, and build and maintain a world class sales culture.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have...
- Bachelor's Degree in business-related discipline and/or equivalent work experience; MBA strongly desired
- 8+ years sales experience, SMB or larger accounts preferred
- Experience leading teams; a leader with proven managerial abilities; excellent team leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to coach, mentor, and train others within Verizon and educate key stakeholders on the benefits of a proposed approach; ability to lead cross-functional teams and ensure cohesive efforts toward a shared goal
Even better if you have...- Proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple, highly complex, cross-functional projects; ability to work under pressure of tight timelines
- Track record of exceeding sales revenue in emerging technology or emerging product areas, including Software as a Service (SaaS) sales
- Strong business financial analysis skills; high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate knowledge and expertise to provide insight and direction to the business
- Strong analytical skills, with successful experience in securing and analyzing large volumes of data to make recommendations toward achieving specific operational goals
- Knowledge of corporate business strategy, wireline/wireless technology, and market and industry trends; previous experience working directly with senior executives
- Ability to interact at the most senior levels internal and external to Verizon
- Presentation skills for executive level management, public groups, etc.
- Self-motivated, resilient, can-do attitude to overcome obstacles and find resolution in sometimes difficult conditions

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $147,800.00 and $274,600.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is a commission based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
