Descriptive Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Single-Family Builder Sales to lead our flooring, cabinetry, and countertop business division. As the Vice President of National Accounts, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales initiatives, driving revenue growth, and building strong relationships with single-family home builders. Your expertise in sales to the builder channel, coupled with your exceptional leadership and sales skills, will be instrumental in achieving sales targets, expanding market share, and positioning our business as a leader in the industry.
Essential Functions
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the flooring, cabinetry, and countertop business segment, aligned with overall company goals and objectives.
- Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing accounts, and establishing strategic partnerships within the single-family home builder market.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, competitive landscape, and utilize this information to develop targeted sales strategies and product positioning.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within the single-family home builder community, to include: purchasing, production, and design.
- Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the sales team to drive a team selling model in the SF builder segment.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Monitor sales performance, analyze sales data, and prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting key trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Pricing and Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with the pricing team to establish competitive pricing strategies and negotiate contracts with customers, ensuring profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Product Development and Innovation: Work closely with the procurement and product development teams to identify market needs, provide feedback on product design and features, and contribute to the development of new products and solutions.
- Industry Networking: Actively participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build networks, stay updated on industry trends, and represent the company as a thought leader in the flooring, cabinetry, and countertop sector.
- Customer Satisfaction: Collaborate with customer service and operations teams to ensure high net promoter scores, resolve any issues promptly, and maintain long-term customer relationships.
Skills & Competencies (select 5-7)
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 12-15 years of experience, and proven track record of success in sales leadership roles within the building products industry; flooring, cabinetry, or countertop industry experience preferred, single-family home builder market experience required.
- In-depth knowledge of the single-family home builder market, including industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies, drive revenue growth, and achieve sales targets.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team to achieve exceptional results.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and negotiate effectively with customers and partners.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate market changes and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers, attend industry events, and visit company locations.
