We’re looking for an experienced Sales Director to join our team. The ideal candidate has a background selling digital media (Display, OLV, CTV/OTT, Audio) direct or programmatically (managed service) to agencies and/or clients direct. You utilize a consultative/problem solving approach to selling, such as The Challenger Sale or Solution Selling. You realize you learn more by listening than talking and enjoy engaging others. You thrive in an environment that continually changes. You are passionate about AI and evolving ad tech. You want to be part of a growing organization where you’re heard as an individual as well as be part of a team of competitive personalities who love to win! Base salary range is $100,000 - $125,000 plus uncapped commissions.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver results by meeting or exceeding annual revenue quota in assigned territory or vertical.
- Most of your time (80%) will be spent developing new business. You have a hunter mentality and intend to grow your account base through leveraging your network, active prospecting, responding to inbound leads and attending trade shows or conferences.
- You’ll also actively pursue new opportunities by responding to RFIs and RFPs.
- For the remaining 20% of the time, you’ll manage a few existing accounts in tandem with a shared Client Success Manager (CSM) for retention efforts.
- Expectations include deepening the relationship with the agency/client as well as upselling and/or penetrating new accounts within that agency.
- Review campaign results and insights reports with your Client Success Manager to ensure campaign KPIs have been met and are communicated effectively to the agency/client.
- Develop and deliver customized presentations both in person and remotely.
- Utilize tools such as LinkedIn and Winmo to qualify, contact, and close prospects.
- Stay abreast of technology in the AI, programmatic, media and digital spaces to have productive conversations with a variety of decision makers in different verticals.
- Collaborate with other departments on product launches and process improvement.
- Attend weekly team meetings and 1:1s to discuss challenges, opportunities, and ideas.
- Use Salesforce for account correspondence, forecasting, pipeline management, etc.
- Attend conferences and events for networking and educational purposes.
- Travel up to 20% of the time.
Requirements:
- You’re a self-motivated, driven, initiative-taker, capable of working independently.
- You also enjoy being part of a team and learning from your peers.
- Expert level communications skills – written, verbal and in-person.
- Comfortable customizing presentation decks and proposals via PPT and Excel.
- Above average analytic acumen: able to decipher data and summarize salient points.
- Be curious, altruistic and have a no excuses, a positive attitude.
- Has attended formal sales training such as The Challenger Sale or Sandler Sales Training.
- Has attained President’s Club, Top 10% Seller, Employee of the Month, etc. during your career.
- Is familiar with Salesforce or other CRM software.
- Understands the difference between cold calling and warm prospecting in applying different sales techniques.
- Has client and/or agency relationships that can be leveraged immediately.
- Understands the value and is adept at developing long-term client relationships/partnerships.
- Understands how the digital marketing ecosystem works across channels.
- A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7+ years of sales experience OR 10+ years of sales experience in lieu of a degree, in digital advertising (ad tech or media).
