Job Purpose
The Radioligand Therapy (RLT) Regional Sales Director is a second-line sales leader, responsible for leading the sales team supporting the RLT portfolio of in-line products and upcoming launches within an assigned geography / region.
The RLT Regional Sales Director is accountable for the execution of the customer engagement strategy as it relates to promotion by the sales team for defined accounts and products. They will lead a team of area business leaders and work closely with the Head of RLT Sales and cross-functional Leads to build a deep understanding of RLT Oncology customers at the HCP and account level.
This is a remote opportunity that will cover the following geography: FL, GA, VA, NC, SC, TN, KY, AL, AR, LA, IL (parts of), IN, MO and Puerto Rico.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Achieve RLT Oncology portfolio sales targets, market share and financial objectives for the organization
- Lead a team of Oncology Area Business Leaders (ABLs) as a 2nd-line sales leader, including recruiting/hiring, mentoring, developing, assessing performance, delegation, and handling or assisting with personnel issues.
- Mentor direct reports to interact with key customers and accounts at a practice- and account-level
- Create a highly collaborative organization which involves and leverages internal, cross-functional resources to build demand and ensure access
- Develop and build a culture in alignment with IM-US customer engagement organization vision and the Novartis Values & Behaviors – continuously elevating performance
- Assess performance of managers and representatives across the region, ensuring each employee is contributing appropriately to the overall objectives of the business, and performance manage as appropriate.
- Lead & contribute as a key member of a cross-functional regional team (including medical, market access, NPS)
- Take an enterprise level perspective to deliver portfolio results and able to make trade-offs between brands, adjust resources and identify new opportunities.
- Serve as a key contributing leadership team member with other RLT Regional Sales Directors and the Head of RLT Sales.
- Provide input to the Portfolio GM and Marketing strategy organization to design appropriate promotional strategies that will drive sales volume, market share and profitability
- Ensure appropriate positioning of promoted products and services to respond to customer needs
- Proactively collaborate with the Customer Engagement Skills/Capabilities and Operations teams to build and deploy resources, training, and systems to the sales team.
- Orchestrate the coordination and alignment of the cross-functional RLT strategy with the Regional leadership team which includes medical, V&A and NPS functions
- Driving is an essential function of this role, meaning it is fundamental to the purpose of this job and cannot be eliminated.
- Because driving is an essential function of the role, you must have a fully valid and unrestricted driver’s license to be qualified for this role.

Role Requirements
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- 10 years of commercial pharmaceutical experience, Minimum of 5 years dedicated to first- or second-line leadership of sales teams in institutional and/or specialty settings including oncology required.
- Track-record of attracting, developing, and retaining talent and building dedicated teams.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to collaborate effectively with internal partners and other cross-functional partners.
- Strategic and analytical thinking as demonstrated by growing the business and in key projects/initiatives.
- Proven success in a dynamic and highly competitive Life Sciences environment.
- This is a remote position that will support Oncology Area Leaders in the assigned region. Candidate is preferred to be based within that region. Ability to travel 50% or more, over a broad geography is required – with the ability to drive and/or fly within the territory. No relocation available.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years in a second line sales leadership role
- Currently in an Oncology leadership position, specifically in RLT or Nuclear Oncology
- Prostate, Neuroendocrine, RLT or Nuclear oncology leadership experience
- Leading product launches as a key member / leader of a sales team
- Experience in a cross functional role such as training, marketing or account management, and has understanding of healthcare system dynamics such as hospitals, GPOs, IDNs, and reimbursement processes.
