The Partner Engineering organization is charged with building and delivering high-value applications on top of the stack of our most strategic alliance partners. Our goal is to drive asymmetric revenue growth, and your role will influence how quickly we achieve this. The Sr. Data Scientist, Partner Engineering, will be the company’s subject matter expert on the SAP platform and its integration with DataRobot for AI-based applications. This role will greatly inform and influence the future direction of horizontal and vertical use cases built on top of the SAP ecosystem that will be implemented by DataRobot customers, partners, and the SAP field team.
Key Responsibilities:
- As the SAP subject matter expert (SME) in Partner Engineering, you will be the go-to expert for SAP and DataRobot market opportunity analysis, joint SAP-DataRobot go-to-market messaging, application development, custom demo creation, and internal and external joint SAP-DataRobot training.
- You will interface between DataRobot’s field data scientists, AI experts in Customer Engineering, SAP employees and partner leaders, and DataRobot partners to continuously gather input and feedback on how to best build impactful AI solutions on SAP with DataRobot.
- Relation to Customers/Suppliers/Third Parties: As the primary technical SME for SAP, reporting to the VP of Partner Engineering, you will own specific technical relationships with SAP counterparts and strategic DataRobot partners.
- As a senior member of the Partner Engineering team, you will be able to both communicate effectively and foster relationships with executives as well as deliver technically in a hands-on manner.
- Innovation and Change: Success in this role will require developing innovative predictive and generative AI solutions for legacy horizontal and vertical business processes. You will partner closely with Customer Engineering to implement AI solutions at scale in a novel way.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
- Successful candidates are expected to have day-one capability to develop and implement AI solutions within the SAP ecosystem. This includes familiarity with data extraction from Line of Business systems like Ariba and IBP, manipulation of data for AI in DataSphere/HANA, and creation of front-end applications in tools such as (but not limited or exclusive to) Fiori.
- A working familiarity with DataRobot is desired; however, training will be provided.
- You must have at least 5 years of hands-on experience building machine learning/AI solutions from project scoping through deployment, and be able to explain those during the interview process.
- Proficiency in Python is required.
- Understand a data science use case and the best practices around it (e.g., demand forecasting), understand and be able to edit/augment any supporting python code.
- Identify the best SAP data layer to build that solution on, acquire representative data, and stand up (resources provided to you) the appropriate test instance of SAP to evaluate integration on.
- Be able to identify the most seamless way to deploy this back into the SAP ecosystem.
- Where you do not know off hand, you know where/who to turn to get an answer quickly.
- You must be comfortable working in a high-paced, team environment.
- 5 years of applied machine learning experience from scoping to model deployment.
- 5+ years of extensive SAP experience where your primary role interacted with the SAP ecosystem nearly daily.
Nice to have:
- A graduate degree in a technical field is preferred but not required.
