Position Overview:
The General Manager is responsible for managing all operational activities, including efficiency, productivity and compliance in the Terminal. Responsibilities also include ensuring the smooth operation of the terminal as well as coordinating, directing, and managing day-to-day activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, educate and develop terminal employees.
- Maintain an effective relationship with management, employees, and customers.
- Lead daily terminal employee and/or planning meetings to ensure workforce communications and an understanding of operational updates and daily goals.
- Responsible for the proper execution of the operations for the assigned shift, ensuring that productivity levels are met.
- Participate in the development of terminal employees and responsible for administering employee relations strategies, including maintaining the confidentiality of such material and matters.
- Responsible for the development and administering of company safety strategies and programs.
- Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure customers' vehicles and equipment are delivered and picked-up timely and damage free.
- Plan staffing for shifts and assign work based upon workload/projected arrival/departure times making adjustments to workloads as needed or required.
- Communicate with dispatch to help coordinate the movement of equipment.
- Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and setting appointments.
- Investigates, resolves and/or escalates customer service issues, as appropriate.
- Responsible for training new employees regarding job duties and performance expectations while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and other training requirements.
- Supervise and direct employee work and monitor employee performance, including administration of discipline as appropriate.
- Monitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
- Communicate with other departments to ensure customers' and company's needs are met.
- Other duties assigned by Management including compliance and admin support. Duties subject to change to meet changing business and customer needs.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Transportation/Delivery Experience preferred.
- Management experience in a fast-paced warehouse/production logistics environment.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent verbal/written communication and listening skills.
- Ability to solve problems where work is defined with established instructions and processes.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Must be able to interact well with others.
- Must be capable of working under time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
- Ability to work without management present and take initiative without immediate local supervision.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $60,000.00+ annually depending on experience, plus bonus possibility.
