Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of hotel operations, including day-to-day staff management and guest relations. The GM should be an ambassador for the brand and the company, providing leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of our service culture, maximized operations, and guest satisfaction.
The General Manager will work closely with hotel owners and manage profitability, team member engagement, and guest satisfaction measures.
During your first few days of employment, you will receive important information regarding the performance requirements of your position, basic company policies, your compensation, and other information necessary to acquaint you with your job and the company. You will also be asked to complete an I-9 form and present the company with information establishing your identity and eligibility to work in the United States in accordance with applicable federal laws.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maximize room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily and analyzing variances, monitoring credit card reports, and maintaining close observation of daily house count.
- Recruit, select, train, and manage employees to deliver superior guest services and quality products that will lead to maximizing revenue and profitability goals.
- Prepare team member schedules according to business forecast, payroll budget guidelines, and productivity requirements.
- Demonstrate effective interviewing skills.
- Perform all jobs within all departments when needed.
- Work closely with accounting on follow-up items, such as returned checks and rejected credit cards.
- Operate all aspects of the front office system, including software maintenance, report generation and analysis, and simple programming.
- Handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable on the M3 Accounting system.
- Assist with or process payroll.
- Ensure timely and professional logging and delivery of all messages, packages, and mail.
- Maintain constant communication with all departments.
REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:
- Hotel Experience: 8 years (Preferred)
- Hilton Experience
- Hospitality Experience: 8 years (Preferred)
- Food and Beverage Experience: 8 years (Preferred)
- Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and familiarity with brand-specific Property Management Systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and listening skills.
- Ability to read and interpret business records and statistical reports.
- Ability to use mathematical skills to interpret financial information and prepare budgets.
- Ability to analyze and interpret policies established by administrators.
- Ability to make decisions based on production reports and similar facts, experience, and personal opinion.
