Marcum is currently seeking a strategic minded, detail oriented, and customer service focused Senior Associate - Nonprofit Consulting to join the team through full cycle of executive search, transition, and planning consulting engagements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand Mission & Leadership Consulting Needs:
- Confer with lead consultants and clients to understand the client's mission and the scope of consulting work to be implemented.
- Work with team members to ensure project management requirements (document request, client meetings, survey administration, etc.) are implemented successfully throughout the engagement.
- Review key documents to understand each client's strategy/business model, leadership, resources, and culture.
Consulting Engagement Implementation:
- Establish work plan with key activities, timeline, deliverables, and team assignments in collaboration with lead consultant.
- Develop, implement, and review data gathering tools to inform the work: surveys, information interviews, focus groups, research, outreach and recruiting plans, etc.
- Leverage data gathering activities to implement engagement consulting activities (tools to support executive search, such as screening frameworks, interview questions, etc.; succession planning; organization assessment & planning; compensation benchmarking; etc.)
- Support drafts of client deliverables, ensuring deliverables align with Marcum's standards of excellence and meet client expectations.
Communication & Customer Service:
- Superior written products (position announcement, compensation benchmarking report, organization planning deliverables, summaries from data gathering activities, etc.). Respond to clients and team members via telephone and e-mail within a reasonable period of time.
- Build relationships with team members that foster trust, respect, and seamless team integration.
- Provide the highest level of customer service to clients, STP team members, and Marcum colleagues.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 4+ years of consulting experience in executive search, human resources/workforce data gathering & analysis, and/or organization planning.
- Experience working in/with nonprofit organizations is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication.
- Able to build a rapport with experienced, highly accomplished nonprofit leaders.
- Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to listen effectively and to gain the trust and confidence of clients, management, and candidates.
- Ability to work well in ambiguous situations.
- Personal qualities of integrity, confidence, commitment to personal leadership development.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
