IntraHealth International is now hiring a Director of Implementation for the Global Health Risk and Capacity (GHRC) project. The Director of Implementation leads the management and delivery of effective technical assistance in holistic local capacity strengthening (LCS) to local partners (LPs), with a focus on ensuring high quality service delivery, compliance, responsiveness to USAID Operating Units (OUs), and timely implementation of LCS activities.
Their primary role is to oversee scoping, delivery, and quality control for delivery of capacity strengthening services, including risk assessment and compliance support, to local health partners that include individual organizations and government entities.
This position can be based remotely within the United States or globally.
Director of Implementation Duties
- Having a thorough understanding of IntraHealth, including its mission, values, culture, history, key partners, stakeholders, market, operations, and finances.
- As a key member of the project's Senior Management Team, they will collaborate with core partners and regional network partners to ensure seamless LCS delivery that meets technical standards and client expectations.
- Promoting knowledge sharing, learning, and collaboration within the project team and globally, modeling partnership with USAID and local organizations.
- Leading the transition of activities, ensuring resources are used effectively to provide technical assistance in LCS, especially for OHA/PEPFAR, while working to expand services to other USAID departments.
- Managing a team of project team members overseeing country-level projects that offer organizational assessments and LCS activities, using subject matter experts and consortium expertise in holistic LCS, risk assessment, and systems mapping to improve partner engagement.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Masters or doctorate) in public health, international health, or related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience managing multi-year, international USG and non-USG health programs with experience in capacity-development of local partners and client management.
- 6+ years of experience leading and building the capacity of professional staff as a supervisor, including leading a team within a low- and middle-income country setting preferred.
- 3+ years of experience interacting with Local Partners, USAID/Washington, USAID Missions, and Host Country Governments in supporting local capacity strengthening with significant experience in strengthening the technical and organizational capacity of local partners.
- Experience developing and monitoring large, complex budgets.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; working knowledge of a second language desired (French or Spanish).
- Experience managing large, complex USG funded CoAgs/Contracts at HQ or in the field preferred.
- Previous leadership roles in country offices including Chief of Party or Country Director for USG funded project(s) in a low- or middle-income country setting.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, usually not to exceed an estimated 25% of total working days per year.
- Ability to work within the United States without employer sponsorship.
