Project Description:
Seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to support collection and processing pipeline development, database development and initial deployment of enterprise cloud-based systems. ANTICIPATED PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: The period of performance shall commence upon Task Order issuance. START DATE: 10/07/2024 END DATE: 12/31/2024, with possibility for extension. PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: On-site/Hybrid at Client locations, Washington, DC. This position requires an onsite presence. The Contractor will be required to be on-site for one (1) day per week (4 days per month onsite required).
Qualification Requirements:
The candidate shall possess the knowledge and skills set forth below:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in supporting enterprise-grade ESXi servers and VMware server software.
- AWS cloud application development experience.
- Agile development experience.
- Experience building and deploying cloud applications with the Python language for backend services and Angular or React for front-end development.
- Must have expert knowledge in cloud technology platforms, cloud tools/services, DevOps, and database management.
- Must be able to lead one or more of the following: database management, programming, cloud security/recovery, and cloud-centric integration.
- Experience working as a developer writing Python code along with the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) required to deploy with either AWS CDK or Terraform. Experience modeling business processes in AWS Step-Functions.
- Experience developing container-based applications utilizing REST APIs for web-based applications written with either Angular or React in TypeScript. Experience utilizing AWS CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail for logging events and audit messages, for operating in a highly regulated environment.
- The candidate will be responsible for remediation and unit testing of code when issues arise as part of the application development and user deployment process.
- US Citizenship is required.
Skills Requirements:- Hands-on AWS development experience required.
- GovCloud development experience helpful.
- Full understanding of storage AWS infrastructure with emphasis on storage (S3/Databases), archiving (S3 options), and database backups (Aurora/RDS/DynamoDB), networking.
- Full understanding of Application Load Balancers, API Gateways with all related security (Okta/Cognito) and networking (security and protocols).
- Detailed attention to security roles and least privilege access, and the ability to resolve security warnings.
- Ability to manage multiple application deployment modules, configurations, and application integration.
- Infrastructure as code implementation using CDK/Python and/or Terraform.
- Deployment automation and scripting.
- Infrastructure unit testing (e.g., cdk-nag) and other forms of infrastructure tests (e.g., resilience testing).
- Implementation of best practices based on both Well-Architected Framework and organizational requirements.
- Command line proficiency (PowerShell/Bash).
Responsibilities:Provide the following:
- AWS and GovCloud development required.
- Full understanding of Application Load Balancers, API Gateways with all related security (Okta/Cognito) and networking (security and protocols).
- Detailed attention to security roles and least privilege access, and the ability to resolve security warnings.
- Ability to manage multiple application deployment modules, configurations, and application integration.
