Minimum Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an approved medical school.
- Completed post-graduate training in an approved residency program sufficient to qualify for board certification in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
- Masters or postgraduate degree and/or certification/specialized training in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the clinical practice of medicine in their specialty.
- Active in medical staff functions of at least one hospital to gain knowledge of medical staff activities, functions, and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of the workings and requirements of regulatory, federal, and state agencies to function as a liaison for the medical staff.
- Previous experience in a medical staff leadership position preferred.
- Desirable to possess licensure as a physician in the state of Georgia.
- Board certified in a medical specialty recognized by the ABMS.
