Position Overview:
The Vice President of Benefits and Human Resources is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of the company’s HR and benefits functions within the organization. This executive role involves overseeing the development and administration of employee benefits programs, talent acquisition, compliance, employee relations, and overall HR strategy. Reporting to the CEO, the VP will lead the HR team, ensuring that the company’s HR policies and benefits offerings align with both client and organizational goals.
The VP of Benefits and HR will also play a critical role in shaping company culture, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and implementing programs that enhance employee engagement and retention for both internal employees and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support the organization’s overall business objectives.
- Lead and manage the HR and benefits teams to ensure the effective delivery of HR services, including employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and recruitment.
- Partner with senior leadership to ensure the HR function contributes to business growth and operational efficiency.
- Benefits Administration:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of competitive employee benefits programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and voluntary benefits.
- Ensure benefits offerings meet the needs of both internal employees and PEO clients, aligning with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously evaluate and update benefits plans to remain cost-effective, compliant, and attractive to current and prospective employees.
- Talent Acquisition and Retention:
- Lead talent acquisition strategies to attract, recruit, and retain top talent for both internal roles and PEO clients.
- Ensure a smooth and efficient onboarding process for new hires, aligning with organizational culture and client requirements.
- Develop employee retention programs and initiatives that improve job satisfaction and reduce turnover.
- Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Foster a positive, inclusive work environment that supports employee development and engagement.
- Serve as a point of contact for addressing employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and grievances in a fair and consistent manner.
- Implement engagement programs to ensure employee morale and satisfaction remain high, contributing to a productive and motivated workforce.
- HR Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure the company and its clients comply with all relevant labor laws, employment regulations, and industry standards.
- Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures that ensure compliance and reduce risk for the organization and its clients.
- Stay current on changes to labor laws and regulations, updating policies and educating leadership and employees as necessary.
- Compensation Strategy:
- Oversee the development and administration of competitive compensation structures that attract and retain employees while aligning with company financial goals.
- Conduct market research and benchmarking to ensure compensation packages are competitive with industry standards.
- Performance Management and Development:
- Lead the development and implementation of performance management programs that include goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development plans.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning by providing professional development opportunities for employees, including leadership training, skill development, and succession planning.
- Organizational Development:
- Develop and implement HR programs that align with company culture and promote employee development, productivity, and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions during company growth, restructuring, or other significant organizational changes.
- Build a strong employer brand that enhances the company’s reputation as a great place to work for both internal staff and clients.
- HRIS and Technology Management:
- Oversee the implementation and management of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and other HR technologies to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Ensure accurate and timely HR reporting and analytics to support data-driven decision-making.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and legal, to ensure that HR and benefits initiatives are aligned with company goals and compliant with legal requirements.
- Act as a strategic partner in the development and execution of organizational initiatives that impact HR and benefits functions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR and benefits administration, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within a PEO or HR services company.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits, compensation, talent acquisition, and compliance.
- Experience with designing and managing benefits programs for both internal staff and clients.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is highly desirable.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and make data-driven decisions to support HR strategy.
- Strong understanding of HR technology, including HRIS and benefits administration systems.
Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience.

Pay: $93,610.00 - $100,108.00 per year
