Job Summary
B&A is looking for a Solutions Architect to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of innovative, scalable solutions that align with our business goals and technology strategy. As a Solution Architect, you will work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and other technical experts to ensure the delivery of effective and sustainable architecture solutions. You will be responsible for designing systems that meet both functional and non-functional requirements while adhering to industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Performs complex and advanced architecture work in design, evaluation, planning, testing and operation in support of system development, engineering analysis and research.
- Leads in the integration of processes and methodologies to ensure the performance of the total system.
- Works directly with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external organizations in the planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of multiple complex technical solutions related to a program's system and technical product development.
- Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of scientific principles and practices in broad areas across one or more technical disciplines.
- Maintains a liaison role for technical matters with staff and customers and acts independently on technical issues within his/her field of expertise.
- Will support the ATO and accreditation processes.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in software development, systems architecture, or related technical roles.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in designing and implementing complex enterprise solutions across various domains (e.g., cloud, microservices, data, security).
- Strong understanding of architectural frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native architectures.
- Proficiency in modern software development practices, including DevOps, CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices.
- Strong experience with integration technologies (APIs, web services, message queues, etc.).
- Solid understanding of security best practices, including data protection, identity management, and compliance.
- Experience with database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL.
Desired Skills
- Experience in Agile or Scrum development environments.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect).
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and large-scale data integration projects.
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI integration within enterprise solutions.
- Familiarity with IoT architecture and solutions.
