The Cloud Foundational Services (CFS) Product Line, a part of Infrastructure Platforms, acts as the focal point across all of JPMC's cloud capabilities. It provides the central suite of tools and APIs that manage access to public cloud capabilities in a secure and compliant manner, defines the developer experience to bind cloud resources into a coherent ecosystem and, in partnership with both Enterprise Technology Product Lines and Lines of Business, drives the adoption and best practices for the implementation of cloud capabilities.
As a Senior Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Cloud Foundational Services, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture solutions for the Atlas enterprise cloud platform. You drive significant business impact and help shape the target state architecture through your capabilities in multiple architecture domains.
Job responsibilities
- Guide architectural decisions for the Atlas 1.0 and 2.0 platform and advise tenant applications, particularly for AWS.
- Work across partner teams and lines of business to make Atlas 2.0 the best possible cloud platform for JP Morgan.
- Evaluate and assess new AWS cloud technologies in the light of Atlas initiatives to ensure effective integration and adoption by business lines of business.
- Provide feedback and propose improvements to architecture governance practices.
- Regularly provide technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
- Drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in Atlas and AWS.
- Actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Architecture concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
- Awareness of architecture governance and tooling valuable.
- 3+ years of commercial cloud native software experience, ideally on AWS.
- At least AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Strong coding skills in Python, Java or Golang.
- Advanced knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge of cloud native principles.
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
- Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture.

- Comfortable working across functional teams from different lines of business from engineers, architects to product managers and potentially remote.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- AWS Solution Architect or Developer certifications or higher professional certification valuable.
- Ideally familiarity and experience with C4 and UML modelling tools.
- Good experience with Kubernetes, using CLI, developing and deploying applications and leveraging service mesh technologies.
- Comfortable with common identity and access based standards including SAML and OIDC and approaches including ABAC.
