Regional Vice President - West Region. The territory will cover from Texas to California through the Pacific Northwest.
Prudential's Group Insurance (GI) Customer Relationship Management team is seeking a Regional Vice President to meet assigned revenue, sales, persistency, and earnings goals for all market segments ranging from employers with 100 employees to those with over 1,000,000. This position includes travel across the assigned territory to penetrate the market, enhance our relationships with customers and broker/consultants and to be recognized as the leader for Prudential in the assigned territory. Skills also include Leadership, Strategic Planning, and the ability to Coach and Develop your team. The Regional Vice President will assign clear goals, metrics and accountability and perform monthly performance and coaching discussions with their direct reports.
Role Objectives:
- Lead a team of individuals who are strategically focused on Revenue, Persistency and Earnings growth for their territory.
- Develop new business opportunities focused on sales growth, persistency, and customer satisfaction by initiating and maintaining strong broker/consultant relationships and customer relationships.
- Planning, implementing, and managing a comprehensive retention and growth strategy.
- Effectively executing our business and revenue strategy while supporting the organizations strategic decisions through leadership, actions, and influencing organizational initiatives through personal participation and input.
- Identify market and competitive trends, developing and refining our business value proposition to match these trends as well as developing marketing strategies and programs to drive growth.
- Continue to develop and grow our strong base of existing customers by further penetrating existing customers with new products, ensuring high customer service and customer satisfaction to drive persistency. Demonstrating strong collaboration with Underwriting, Service Delivery, Claims, Contracts, and internal Control Partners will be critical to delivering on these objectives.
- Drive activity within the team that emphasizes Prudential's products, services, capabilities and overall value proposition to the market.
- Be a role model for our leadership behaviors and execute on our overall talent management and brand strategy.
- Provide Account Executives and Directors with resources, training, ongoing feedback, and coaching aimed to improve overall success in their roles.
- Plan for and staff open positions to meet business needs, considering the most diverse slate possible for every vacancy.
- Evaluate, document, and discuss each direct report’s progress toward objectives and achievement of results semi-annually.
- Utilize a flexible management approach in an attempt to unleash employee potential and help eliminate barriers to success (i.e., seeking diverse slates for project teams and key assignments, engaging employees in decision-making, cross-training).
- Reward and recognize achievement of results.
- Regular communication of GI strategy, goals, and objectives to field reps.
- Ensure team is well trained and competent in Group Insurance products, company procedures, the regulatory landscape, and ensuring capabilities are in place to support strategic initiatives.
- Soliciting and integrating feedback from direct reports and supervisor(s) in order to improve managerial effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Group Insurance experience with proven success in servicing/managing all size accounts.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead high performing sales teams.
- Ability to design territories effectively with balance, parity, and effective geographical spread.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- A thorough understanding of Group Insurance products, strong financial understanding, and an understanding of general pricing, reserving, and underwriting tools.
- Established relationships/contacts with broker/consultant community and strong professional reputation in the industry.
- Demonstrated track record to create strategies to grow and retain business.
- Proven consultative selling skills and the ability to convey Prudential’s differentiators to the marketplace with ease and confidence.
- Ability to obtain a state Group Life and health insurance license within 30 days of hire.
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The base salary for this role is $165,000 + applicable sales commissions and/or bonuses. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $153,100.00 to $207,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
