Position Summary: Responsible for the development, planning, supervision and coordination of services of the Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP), and the facilitation of all HRO (High Risk Offender) direct services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the implementation, planning, monitoring and supervision of the BIPP Program.
- Responsible for facilitating services and psycho-education groups for male and female perpetrators of domestic violence in the HRO program.
- Manages the annual and mid-year performance evaluation process and makes recommendations as needed, monitors goals and outcomes for the program staff, volunteers, and interns.
- Manages the BIPP budget and development process and assures the BIPP program is operated in compliance with grant funders.
- Develops relationships and protocols with community agencies, including Dallas County, partner agencies, family violence advocates, and judges.
- Develops new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization and program.
- Develops and implements long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program and the participants.
- Ensures all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with the program standards.
- Works with the Sr. Director of Comm Collab in the recruitment and screening process for program staff and recruits' interns; provides supervision and guidance to program staff, volunteers and interns; monitors staff performance and conducts annual performance evaluations.
- Supervises and provides guidance to program staff, volunteers, and interns; facilitates weekly staff meetings.
- Monitors, evaluates, and ensures the effectiveness of the BIPP Program.
- Assists the Sr. Director and the Chief Client Services Officer with grant-writing and reports to public and private funders.
- Responsible for budget oversight including participating in budget planning and monitoring program expenditures.
- Attends and participates in required staff and management meetings, trainings, and supervisory sessions.
- Attends and participates in weekly staff and court meetings for the HRO program.
- Provides external trainings and consultation to community professionals.
- Works as an effective member of a team with other Family Place staff and programs.
- Maintains professional knowledge of domestic violence.
Other Duties: Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements: Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or Social Services. A minimum of three years' experience working with or facilitating groups for perpetrators of domestic violence, family violence offenders, sex offenders, or other high-risk offender population and five years of experience supervising and managing staff. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred. Strong leadership, presentation, verbal/written communication, and organizational skills required.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Texas Driver's License and clear driving record.
- Ability to maintain a minimum of twenty hours of continuing education annually, and as required by TDCJ-CJAD BIPP guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience working with victims of domestic violence.
- Ability to conduct individual and group sessions both in psycho-educational groups and experience with the Duluth Model preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and self-motivate to accomplish job goals.
- Ability to perform work efficiently and effectively under stressful situations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral) are required.
- Knowledge and experience of program development and performance management.
- Ability to build strong teams to meet performance goals.
- Ability to provide guidance to staff when students make outcries about abuse.
- Able to manage multiple projects; able to determine project urgency in a practical way.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Mental and Physical Abilities: Duties are usually performed seated with occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 25 lbs).
Working Conditions: Work may be performed but is not limited to an office environment. Ability to work some weekends and evening hours for special projects.
