JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the mechanical construction teams and Services team in all areas of Construction Operation working on projects of various sizes and complexity. (Our team installs, repairs, and maintains mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in commercial buildings.)
- Ultimately responsible for the performance, safety, quality, and work execution of our West construction team to execute projects safely, on time, and on budget.
- Develop and grow the team at all levels including field workers, foremen, and field operations managers.
- Work closely with Operations Manager and Project Managers to ensure that proper operational policies are followed from estimating through warranty.
- Provide leadership direction in mediating and resolving operational construction challenges with effective listening skills, solution-focused mindset, and proactive resolution skills.
- Meet or exceed all financial budgets and goals, manage accounting and financial reporting with key involvement in financial review with project-specific team.
- Provide leadership for scheduling manpower, material, and equipment with project teams.
- Play an active part in finding creative avenues and solutions to identify and hire the best-in-class talent in a current challenging talent pool market.
- Conduct jobsite visits to gather initial site information prior to bidding jobs on behalf of the Estimating team.
- Review contract documents for correct scope including any contract changes and order pricing.
- Build and maintain strong customer relations with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, internal customers, and owners.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, or significant related experience in Construction Management.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing high-performing teams with demonstrated success in adding operational efficiency.
- Experience in the mechanical construction/plumbing industry is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrate knowledge in construction management principles, practices and methods, environmental regulations, engineering project management methods, workplace safety, budgeting, employee management, and development.
- Ability to solve complex, multi-faceted problems using various problem-solving techniques.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Possess analytical and mathematical skills, quick thinking, and a solid understanding of the main principles of engineering, construction, and architecture.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite – Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
