The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis's Data Privacy Office is seeking a Director of Operations and Support to support the program’s strategic priorities and to ensure Personally Identifiable Information (PII) entrusted to the Federal Reserve System (FRS) is protected in alignment with the System Data Privacy Program Charter, the Privacy Policy, and Federal Reserve Information Security Standards. Compliance with the Privacy Standards protects the Fed’s reputation and enhances public trust in the Federal Reserve System.
Best qualified candidates will be subject matter experts on Data Privacy, preferably with experience in the design, development and implementation of privacy, data protection and cybersecurity programs; with a knowledge of key regulatory, legal and technological developments impacting the use of data, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and biometric data.

Responsibilities:
As the Director of Operations and Support, you will direct and coordinate operations for the local implementation and management of the System Privacy Program; communicate and collaborate across Federal Reserve Districts and coordinated functions to manage the local response to privacy incidents. In addition, you will serve as a delegate for the System Privacy Officer (SPO), as needed, to chair the Data Privacy Incident Response Team (DPIRT), which is the committee that the SPO convenes for the purpose of coordinating responses to privacy incidents. You will bring relevant expertise in program management to support the overall team by:
- Supervising and/or performing Privacy Assessments for business lines in the Minneapolis District; conduct a review of existing controls, identify gaps, identify issues that require further investigation, monitor remediation activities with attention to quality, accuracy, and timeliness, and document results and outcomes.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of the operational, technical and policy issues relating to the industry and provide a high level of application, and operational expertise and guidance.
- Support the SPO in meetings and take responsibility for completion of action items, ensure agendas are set, minutes are taken, cascades agreed, and actions are tracked to confirm objectives.
- Manage and deliver results for the system privacy program, including:
- Create structure and focus on broad ideas relevant for System operations requirements. Explore and bring forth recommendation for action in a timely manner.
- Proactively identify opportunities to add value to SPO and the FRS, by interpreting, simplifying, and prioritizing relevant insights to drive decision making.
- Act as a liaison between SPO and other POs, internal Minneapolis district and other stakeholders to ensure consistent communication and ensuring involvement or decision making at the proper time.
- Provide strong leadership, project management and program execution capabilities to develop, motivate, and evaluate performance of staff, delegate responsibilities and communicate performance expectations.
- Work cross functionally on one or many strategic initiatives and assist in establishing project reporting standards, templates, and reporting processes and policies.
- Build relationships with critical stakeholders and work closely with communications and IT teams to manage internal and external communications.
- Build consensus in work-group settings and team discussions among privacy stakeholders across the Federal Reserve System (FRS). Influence others to achieve desired outcomes.
- Plan, manage, and execute strategic initiatives of varying size and complexity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree AND ten (10) years of experience in compliance, operations, or business risk in the financial services industry OR
- Master’s degree AND eight (8) years of experience in compliance, operations, or business risk in the financial services industry.
- Experience must include supervisory/management experience, preferably in the regulatory and compliance services practice of the big 4 consulting firms.
- Certified International Privacy Professional (CIPP/US/CIPT/CIPM) certification.
- Deep knowledge, understanding and experience in privacy regulations along with knowledge of CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA.
- Experience in identifying and managing risks related to processing data. Proficiency in conducting impact assessments and written communication skills.
- Exceptional ability to implement and evangelize use of project management structures (e.g., project plans, weekly status reports and meetings, prioritized issues resolution log, risk log including mitigation measures, transition plans, etc.)
- Demonstrated track record in sound judgment, strong attention to detail, and persistence in following issues to conclusion.
- Strong client service orientation and confidence in communicating with cross functional teams.
- Experience summarizing results and producing management reports and deliverables.
- Experience with Office365 (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, One Drive). Experience with risk management platforms such as Onetrust preferred.

Additional Information:
Salary Range: $140,100- $175,178- $210,200 Annually.
Salary offer will be based on qualifications/experience of the candidate, alignment with market data, the needs of the position, our total compensation package, and internal equity.
