Recognised globally in terms of publications, impact and influence - and training the greatest number of students in this field - the city’s three world-leading scientific institutions: the University of Plymouth, the Marine Biological Association and Plymouth Marine Laboratory collectively formed Marine Research Plymouth, a partnership to harness the full scientific and technological capabilities of Britain’s ‘Ocean City’. Marine Research Plymouth seeks to harness all of this and ensure Plymouth is the go-to destination in the UK, and one of the leading centres globally, for marine-related research.
Responsibilities:
- As CEO, you will help to enable achievements and innovations to go further and will cement Plymouth and the South West as the leading marine research location.
- You will be responsible for the connection between industry and the partnership to drive Plymouth forward.
- You will effectively utilise strong national and international business relationships to enable Marine Research Plymouth to achieve academic, research and innovation strategic goals.
- You will be an experienced negotiator and will have proven collaboration skills.
- With an in-depth knowledge of marine science and technology, you will be familiar with the research landscape and will ideally have experience of funding applications.
- Experience in leading large organisations/partnerships is a must, along with strategic vision and drive.
